I think people are forgetting something.

Chloe only exists because people wanted to know about the younger daysof Clark Kent, and for some strange reason people liked a mini-blonde-lois in season one who evolved into her own character who sometime seems like a mary-sue.

I am sure that there could've been a more effective way to get Oliver out of his funk.

In the real world, you set up an intervertion. But that's too boring for television. Instead, you should have your friend drugged, and then set up an elaborate and very dangerous hoax to snap him out of it.
