no 2 doesn't matter when it's up against a NCIS with 19 million and it's a sci fi show. The ratings were absolutely HUGE, HUGE and it won the 18-49 demo. You couldn't have asked for a better debut.

Looking even more likely to see episodes 5 - 8. They will have till film while Winter Olympics are in town, which will suck. Gridlock, price gouging and all.Comment

Congratulations V. What's cool is it increased from 8:00-8:30,

Viewers: 13.76 million (#2), A18-49: 4.9 rating/13 share (#1)
8:30 p.m.

This is great news--especially considering its biggest competition was NCIS.
I can't help but wonder if ratings would have been even bigger if ABC had gone through with their sky-writing campaign. They shouldn't have chickened out on that.Comment

Awesome! That Demo!
Most of us under-estimated the ratings. Next week will really be the test
to see how many viewers come back. I know I will be watching.
This is what I've been looking for, another show that hooks me right
away like Smallville did.Comment

ABC's 'V' premiere lands big ratings.
Looks like 13.9 million!
BIG PREMIERE. Best for a new scripted show this Fall.

Wow the ratings are great.
I hate to be a wet blanket but you just cant go by premiere numbers. I dont know how many shows over the last few years have celebrated double diget wins on premieres and then five episodes later are lucky to be pulling in 2 to 4 mill Look at TSCC and Knightrider for examples.
Reboot Shows like V are really hard to gage right away because you will have a lot of fans of the original tune in for the premiere just for nostalga reasons and might leave feeling they didn't present the retelling to their liking.
So for me I wont call it a win unless the ratings stay high for the whole four episode block.Comment

The final ratings were actually higher than what was initially reported. Final ratings for the V premiere were as follows:
14.3 million viewers overall
5.2 in the 18-49 demo
