hey guys, when watching this episode, i had a scary thought actually
in the future dean saw, whether real or not, castiel said the angels left, or disappeared, without him knowing what happened
now when i saw this episode, i got an idea. as castiel was so set on the boy being able to nuke the angels, perhaps that is what happened. now in the future dean saw, sam and him never met up again, and perhaps, never went to track down the boy in the first place, which led to the demons and lucifer getting to him first.
and as cas said, with enough training and time, he eventually grew powerful enough to nuke the angelic host, essentially tipping the scales in hell's favour forever. the rest of the angels up in heaven and archangels probably decided it was too dangerous to attempt to go down to earth with that kid there and essentially gave up than, or if you wanna look more into it, perhaps he was powerful enough to nuke all of them in heaven as well (although i doubt it and seem to do with my first point)
whatcha think all?
