Loved the monorail scene and the Statue of Liberty scene was really cool. Thought the vision effects at the end were well made too.Comment

totally that krypto writing/exterior shots of metropolis were great. Better then just getting those street sets in their backlot.Comment

I was blown away by the following effects:
-The derailed monorail
-The fight sequence between Lois and Alia
-Clark burning the symbol onto everything in sight
-Green Arrow rescuing Lois*
-Clark reading the Kryptonian symbols at the FOS
-Clark stopping the bus*
-Clark leaping off of the Statue of Liberty
-Lois stomping on John's foot
-Chloe and Dr. Hamilton using the 'touch screen" transferable computers
-Alia's slow motion blade throw that slices Clark on the cheek
-Tess' jacked up face (great make up job)
-Lois' entire dream sequence

They must have been saving up last season because tonight was loaded with special effects! So happy to see it put to good use.Comment

We actually didn't get that many, compared to other premieres. We got the monorail, the fall off the Statue of Liberty, couple superspeeds and heat visions, and the crash into the barn.
It seems like they tricked us with the trailer. Clark fell off one of the buildings in Metropolis and I was sooo excited to see that shot in HD. But it looks like they used that just as a place holder, then switched to the Statue. The statue fall did look cool, but... hmm.
I guess my favorite would be the whole monorail thing. And also the shots of Metropolis. The city looked great with all those other skyscrapers. The watchtower building. Some cool new stock shots as well.
- The Watchtower CGI building at the very start.
- The whole train sequence.
- Clark in the top of that tall building.
- Training in the Fortress.
- Statue of Liberty shot.
- Some heat visions.
- Lots of stunts here and there.
And compared to "Odyssey" last season, we had a lot more VFX!Comment
