Is Lois the best addition to this show?

Lois Lane is the only character on Smallville that I have any interest in. I loved Oliver Queen until Season 9 and then they destroyed him.

Yep, she is. I used to love Lionel as well, but season 10 Lionel was so boring that I kep wishing he would disappear from my screen. Honestly, they should have never brought him back, if they meant to ruin him like that.

After Lois, I think the best additions were Hawkman, Dr. Fate and Emil (loved him so much).
