Yeah Lois transforming into Chloe was part of it, but I also believe that it was a symbol that Chloe has been the backbone behind Clark for a long time now helping him become Superman. Especially since JK died.

Lol funny you mention that, some arguements I see on the Pro Chlois side, I will usually point out how it actually lines up better with Clark/Parents more then Clark/Lois(can't say I am a fan personally when she adopts the Mama Chloe role, I don't think it has the same effect with her as it does with Jonathon or Martha)
