With the problems with ford company .. i'm thinking will this at all affect Knightrider?

This show would be cool to watch except for these reasons:

      1) NBC cannot do an action show justice with Heroes being the sole exception. Knight Rider should be about one man and his car. Instead it's filled with sex innuendos and cheap plot lines.

      2) The cast. It should be the car, the rider, and that's it! Limited time should be spent on the agency they fall under. Instead we get two idiots sitting in KITT acting like they are watching porn when they spy on Michael and Sara and if they will make out or not.

      3) Weak stories and plots with no direction whatsoever of the series. This is not the 1980's anymore where you could do that.

      4) This is not Transformers so why is KITT transforming all the time? There is no reason why there should be an attack mode or an off-road mode. It's just cheap advertising for FORD and they hoped to play off of the success of the Transformers movie.

I stopped watching this show about two months ago because it's just ridiculously boring, lousy, and stupid.

True but this is because Terminator has a stronger plot element and stronger cast. There's no focus on sex and they stick to the point. The only flaw T:SCC is showing currently is the continuous teenage angst of future rebel leader John Connor but even that is tolerable compared to the gratuitous sex of Knight Rider.

Knight Rider won't be spared like T:SCC was because of the network and the lack of direction of the show.

I know it sometimes takes actors and writers time to decide where they want to take a show and who the character is going to be, but the acting is horrible. With so many so-called reality based shows on TV, there are 100's of talented actors looking for work and NBC hired a high school drama class at best.

No chemistry between the actors. If you want to use double entendres the characters have to have believable interpersonal interactions.

Show sucks, plain and simple. Some NBC network dimwits thought they knew more about acting, writing, storylines, and casting, than writers, directors, and actors. Lay the blame at the feet of the studio.

If the execs won't let them have a full season, I do not see how this will help KR get to season 2.

Mod Edit: There's now also an article at KITTSite
They can try to get picked up on the Sci fi channel.

Ditto. Something about that old car shouts futureistic even today. It's sad that they feel they had to drastically change everything. All it needed was a little tweaking ,cast, dashboard, tech talk and the show would just about make itself.

Saw that earlier, people are still calling it a remake, ugh... But at the end it certainly gives a little hope that if the show rebounds it might get a second season. It all depends on NBC though and the effort they put forth in promoting it. But of course the suits at NBC don't know their heads from their rectal cavities, probably hard when they're shoved way up in them.

                uninteresting characters on the show.

                  Spoilers

I'm glad they are getting rid of the FBI agents but I am very disappointed that they are getting rid of Dr. Graiman. I was hoping he would take Devon's place when they start up FLAG again, although maybe that position can go to the Hoff. I read in the spoilers that by the Jan. 28th episode that they are going to start up FLAG again. I'd love to see David get a role in KR as the head of FLAG, that would be real fitting. And then an occasional appearance from the original KITT. What do others think.

It's not a bad idea. I only see one problem with it. What do you do with the original KITT after his initial appearance? Does he get destroyed? Is he just hanging around FLAG talking to Michael all day? Maybe he gets a new driver.

I can't think of a good way to have KITT around in that situation.

I would like to see both Hasselhoff and the original KITT back, but I'd prefere them saving Mike's and the new KITT's life, doing some jokes like have both KITTs answer when one asks one of them a question, maybe a little showing each other what the other one can do, and KITTs conversing. Then have Michael and the original KITT drive off into the sunset making the assumption that their still out there somewhere do what they always did; what they do best.

I think something along those lines would be best so the characters don't feel cheated

Unless his price tag is a bit too high. With the hoff they'd have to skimp on something.

I don't find Dr. Graiman interesting in that like Devon he and the other charactors they are writing out are there to help establish a hierarchy nothing more. We know nothing remarkable about these charactors hence loosing them is not very tragic.

Hasselhoff would probably want some creative control and a part of me says "give it to him". While another part is afraid that he might let his ego take over.

If the original KITT comes back I have no expectations of it being for more than an episode or two as I'm fairly certain that William Daniels, at over 80 years old, has no interest in working full time.

Agreed. A brief appearance would be the most one could hope for.

I'd like to see an episode with both William Daniels and Val Kilmer actually in the episode, where they were once assistants (one from the two-thousand model and one for the three-thousand) who worked for Dr. Graiman and left him, however they made such an impact in Knight Industries, that Dr. Graiman chose to use their voices for the cars. I mean after all..how do you program a voice??

They definetly need to work on Attack Mode (too cheesy) and Kitt needs to Turbo Boost in Normal mode.

I think a good way to introduce the old Kitt back in the show was that Dr. Graiman left in his will specific instructions to the original KITT in his will, (OR and extreme possibility, when Dr. Graiman told KITT Proticol ..... it unlocked KITT's classified and detailed history of him and his predicessor. However, I think it would be neat and probably people would disagree that that episode would be a two-parter with the orginal being destroyed.

I have a feeling that if Knight Rider does continue, we will see Goliath.

I could see that working. It at the very least would be a better end than "I never thought KITT was much if an asset in the first place". I'd still prefere it if he didn't get destroyed though.

I definitely do NOT want to see the original KITT destroyed. I hated to see Dr. Graiman get killed. I liked his character and his interaction with the funny looking robot of his. When he gave KITT that code just before they left the plane I thought, he knows things about KITT that no one knows so how are they going to fine out or as someone else said maybe the code or a last will, will show them new information. It all seems interesting, there are a lot of possibilities for future shows.
