It all seems interesting, there are a lot of possibilities for future shows.
My guess is that in the even he died he had a program in place that would some how fill Sarah in on all that she was not informed on. Being she is the only one now capable to fixing KITT it would only make sense.

I think that there were problems when it wasn't on for a while. I think people lost interest!

I think that content-wise, the best way to get viewers for this new series is to follow a few simple rules...

        1) Take the characters seriously. Comedy is all well and good, but too much of it can turn any episode into a farce. Use it wisely; more people will tune in as a result.

        2) We all know sex sells, but that doesn't mean it has to be a part of every episode, especially not to the extent it has been. Keep it to an absolute minimum. No closeups on bikini-clad women, no sexual romps between the characters, no porn jokes...such things may get a momentary response from people, but over time it will only grate on them the wrong way. Romance is one thing; sex is another. Recognize and respect the difference.

        3) The entire existence of Knight Industries is supposed to be a secret; characters constantly going into great metropolitan areas doesn't help this aspect. If something happens in a place like Vegas or Chicago, keep it to once or twice a year...not every episode.

        4) Show the actual smarts of the characters. Have them use their brains more than anything else. no one respects a clueless hero (or heroine). Keep things mysterious, too; if the general audiences figures out the plot 20 minutes in, you have a problem.

I hope NBC will see how it does overseas first beofre they can decide whether or not to keep the show. They done it with Friends (remember how bad the scripts and acting was in the 1st season before they got better) so they should do it with Knight Rider.
In terms of so called ratings Knight Rider could be the first show that NBC can do and hopefully have every TV network/ channel around the world should do with their scripted TV shows. I think all scripted shows should be online shows only, giving people the chance to view them online and not do that stupid region blocking/ only certain countries can watch it crap. Give everyone around the world a chance to watch it online and pay attention to how hits each episode is getting (if a tv show episode has sex or violence or anything with a like teen/early adult to adult themes then have it only be watched at a different time while keep the standard version to be watched at anytime) and keep the over rated reality TV shows and sports shows on TV where they belong cause they never seem to get the axe while scripted TV shows do.

I love love love the list that Moviefan2k4 posted above^^. I have to agree with every point and hope that someone from the show reads this as this is an excellent guide for them.

I hope that his isn't the the Beginning of the end! The first half of the Season was kind of ridiculous... all about fighting terrorism out and abroad. The sex appeal was there, but way too much. It was like every episode was steaming up my tv.

However, since the break and the cast shakedown... the show's roots are coming back. I hope it gets picked up for another season or two!

One Man can make a difference.

Well considering NBC owns Sci fi channel and USA id say Knight Rider is toast.

Have you seen the original OR the new show?

                  3) Weak stories and plots with no direction whatsoever of the series. This is not the 1980's anymore where you could do that.

                  4) This is not Transformers so why is KITT transforming all the time? There is no reason why there should be an attack mode or an off-road mode. It's just cheap advertising for FORD and they hoped to play off of the success of the Transformers movie.
You complain about the lack of direction with the show and yet, the direction of the show (the FBI background/ KARR conspiracy) is what people have gotten mad about.

Then, did you ever see the Original Knight Rider? What was Super-Pursuit mode if not a slightly less fantastic version of Attack Mode or "Transformers"? In terms of the car, they took the final capabilities of the original KITT and knocked them up several notches, just as one would expect 22 years later.

Personally, I think the series of events that have eventually led back to the re-creation of FLAG were one of the only realistic ways to revive the Foundation. Reconstitute the advanced car technology in cooperation with a government organization (otherwise you wouldn't be allowed to roam about the country in said car with military-lite capabilities), have the government abandon the project and use the basis of the organization to re-form the Foundation. Intentional or not, I think it is one of the few believable ways they could have done what they did with the level of KITT's technological sophistication.

Specifically, with regard to the transforming KITT does, I would be disappointed if they didn't step up a notch or two from the Super-Pursuit mode of the original series. It's been more than twenty years! If we are to be true to the original series, how can we believe that 20 years later we only have a talking car that drives itself, goes really fast, is bullet-proof and jumps over things? There has to be something more to the car or it really is just a new person behind the wheel of a show that was cancelled 20 years ago.

Is the show perfect? No. But it is a lot of fun and had gotten continuously better. I swear, "fans" are some of the most self-indulgent, selfish, unthinking people on the face of the planet.

I get to say that because I am one.

My question is the same as some others'. What do they do with the original KITT? How do they explain where KITT has been all this time? Do they put him in mothballs when it's over? Does he get a new driver and there is a second Knight Rider out there somewhere?

I don't see how you could bring back the original KITT with any dignity short of having TOS KITT sacrifice himself for the new KITT.
