I wondered the same thing. Since she seems to be Obsessed with finding Lex, maybe her strong feelings about him are the cause. All they told us about her is that she had some strong connection to Lex and it's all tied up in her past...And Lex's past. It's supposed to be part of the Mystery that IS Tess Mercer. We're supposed to find out a lot more about her as the season goes along, I guess.

I diasagree that shes sad over somebody. It looks more to me that she has seen something and is toatlly scared out of her wits.

Maybe seen some of Lex's secrets and thought what the hell have i got myself into.

I was gonna say over Lex but I dunno now! Maybe she realised she should've checked the small print in Mr Luthor's handwritten instructions cos I'm sure she's cracking up over the 3 and a half million projects Lex had going on before he went AWOL. Between that and having to do her hair in that 'look-at-me-I-am-a-professional-and-can-look-after-myself-thanks' style, she probably just couldn't cope any more
