Does Peter get his ass kicked much too easily?

Is it just me? Or does anybody else think that for someone who is supposed to be so powerful that Peter gets his ass kicked much too often?

He is a powerful idiot and idiots get there asses kicked. Powers mean nothing if you struggle to use them effectively.
Compare Sylar and Peter. Peter has far more abilities but in a fight my money would definitely be on Sylar anyday.

Well, I guess they need to add some sort of naivete in Peter. He's already too overpowered as it is, so I like that he has so many abilities that it overwhelms and stumps him a bit so he wouldn't be a GOD. And now that he has Sylar's abilities, heaven help all the characters of Heroes if/when he masters ALL of his powers.

Well, it really bugs me. Peter should be able to take out Claire even if she does have a gun. He has telekinesis, doesn't he?

Well he did knock her out but wouldn't it be easier if he used Matt's power and told her to drop the gun??

He's too self-conscious and cares too much about people. He lets his guard down because he's always seeing the good in people which is a good trait for a hero to have but at the same time a good hero knows how to balance when to give in and when to fight.

I think he's still young in the terms of the show so he's not entirely comfortable with his role yet. He was after S1 but then S2 kinda dragged him around and now he's lost himself again. I like to think that Peter is overwhelmed by the responsibility and that when we least expect it he'll surprise us.

I think that sometimes he gets WAY to cocky. That's probably why! :)
