I understand that they are trying to grow the character out but I find it a bit too far gone with her being so bitter and trying so hard to be uncaring and mean. It's a stretch for me that she turns into that future. She does seem like she took her mom's advice but it's hard for me to accept and believe.
Any thoughts?

i think she is a little dark but not totally evil!

Maybe something happened to Noah Bennet in the near future and this results in derailing Claire's path, maybe Peter somehow accidentally killed Noah and future Claire seeks for revenge?

I don't like her character going to the darkside.
I think Hayden's acting seems off when its bad. Hayden plays a much better Hero. Maybe that is the reason I dislike Future Claire.

I do agree. It seems forced that she's trying to be bad. It could be that's just how she acts and being a 'teenager' is more fluid for her as an actress.
All I know is that they need to build on the character but throwing her 100% into a bitter, not caring person is hard to swallow and believe. We need to see the tipping point because that incident with her real mom in that container was NOT ENOUGH and that incident with Sylar was just NOT ENOUGH to change her that drastically in my opinion.

Yup. I think her character would be better played if she indeed had trouble making decisions. Pretty much showing she still cared but had to complete her acts to save the world even if that means killing the ones she loved. I know she told Peter but it still wasn't convincing. We need some emotion.
100% bitter was not good and you're right it was hard to believe knowing that Claire was NEVER like that in the past. It just doesn't seem fitting for her to not have a weakness at that point in the future.

Then I blame the writers. They haven't gave us a reason "yet" for her change. That's probably why we can't believe that drastic of a change in Clarie. Maybe it'll be revealed in upcoming episodes. If not, then what a waste of time with all the theorizing.

I think next week's preview looked like we might find out something but who knows. At this moment her character needs explaining by the writers, I agree. Hopefully they will fill us in.

being attacked and toyed with while you feel helpless can traumatize alot. In the present she isnt bitter, more like angry and frustrated and i can see how that can turn bitter.

But it's not like she was crying or screaming .. she was just chillin' there with her head open and then she was fine when Sylar put her scalp back on (I talk like it's no biggy haha).
If anything I would be curious as to why Sylar didn't kill me instead of going on a rampage to get revenge.

I understand that I guess I just want to see more and understand more about her transition. Because it's hard (for me at least) to piece the two together. I've had major drama but nothing to turn me entirely dark side. Just having trouble relating I guess......

I like that Claire isn't fearful and dependent on others to take care of her anymore.
While it appears that she's gone to an extreme, didn't she say something about Peter having taken "everything" from her...whatever that means.
The only "family" I've seen from "the past" is Mr. Muggles. :\

I thought that she was talking to Sylar when she said 'you have taken everything from me' guess she is still bitter about her poking around in her head..... yeah I guess that might have been the tipping point.
I was kinda surprised Mr. Muggles made it to the future! That is one awesome dog!!!!

I think she's a noisy ***** in the future. Seriously, all she is, is an emo person. She should just cut off her head and end it. Or learn how to be an astronaut and hurl herself into space towards the fiery ball of hot gases known as The Sun. I like the Claire we saw in season 2 when punching the door in while confronting Elle. That was hot and bloody knuckled scene.

You will. we are only 4 episodes into his season. it takes four years for claire to become her future self and i'm sure writers wont let that happen.

the comic explains it.
She isn't the villain in the future, Peter is. From the Companies perspective anyways.
Claire works for the company and Peter is trying to destroy it and killed alot of people she knew and worked with int he process, so he is enemy #1 to her and the company.

Mmmm that's what i don't really like about the show. A lot of things are explained more in the comics (I still remember the after Eden dead one). Usually I forgot to read them and miss things like that in the show :(

I have to say.. I think I'm leaning more toward bad ass Claire. She isnt as whiney.. and pathedic... though more angsty... but.. I think i like her bad more.. plus.. she looks GREAT!

I think that someone chopping your head open is reason enough for you to go bitter and scared... Accepting that she can't die makes herself worry-less in some aspects. So... We are 4 years into the future and I mean... in 4 years MANY THINGS can happen
