I have always complained about smallville. I have always said they made it a dating show with silly triangles. I always wanted to clark become more like superman.
I apologize to the writers tonight I was impressed.
I saw fleshing out of characters.
I saw revenge.
I saw a nice backstory to tess and ollie.
I saw Lois being generally upset.
I saw Ollie truly challenge clark on his fear vs being invincible.
I thought the ollie analogy of clark has never faced his island was actually quite deep.
I saw actual drama, ollie poisoned and had a reason for not going to the hospital.
I truly enjoyed the writing tonight.
I am impressed.

Sorry writers for always bashing you. I thought this was a very well written episode.

Why did Ollie not want to go to the hospital?

because if ollie went the normal procedure for poisoning is a shot of Adrenalin. This special type of poison who have killed him with the Adrenalin.

Yes, that's why they had to poision the chick he was with. SO they could kill her off with adrenaline to show why Oliver couldn't go to the Hospital. BUt they should have had him say "Leeches... LEECHES!" in stead of "Mercy". I tought that was a bit odd since in this continuity, the character's name is Tess Mercer, not Mercy Graves or Tessmacher. that was weird.

I didn't like the no Clark plot. The no superpowers. But then that's me because I'm a science fiction junkie. And Ollie isn't science fiction.

I love the powers and all that. And I've always said Ollie is a great sub plot character, or supporting character, but I love the superman stuff, and that's me. I do like batman, but Ollie just isn't batman. Batman may be human but he has super stuff that makes him super.

If I wanted to watch a crime drama about regular people I'd watch Law and Order. But I don't watch Law and Order because I don't like it. I want to see..........science fiction, stuff that isn't normal human drama. Ollie=normal human. And maybe he helps replace Jonathan Kent, but they never made the entire show about Jonathan and his back story. So I think they need to stick to the screen time and sub character Johanthan was, with Ollie also.

I think giving Ollie's background helps understand where he's coming from. Since he is a regular this season, it's important understanding Ollie. He and Clark will be interacting a lot and developing his character is important.

We don't need to understand him more than what we understood Johnathan Kent or Pete.

I enjoyed how the Doomsday continuity has gone out...I thought we would see Davis Bloome in the alley-way and nothing of it until "Committed" or "Prey", but Lois came in with a story about a "Jack the Ripper of Metropolis".
