I'm sure the title is misleading, but no, I'm not talking about the tights. I'm just curious as to where Clark gets the money to buy all the suits he's been wearing. It was such a sudden and immediate change and I'm still not used to it...at least until he has the glasses.

He's got money in the bank. Maybe he got a check from work early. Or maybe it's been a month since the premiere and he got his regularly scheduled check.

a journalist, especially a newcomer definitely cannot make enough to meet everyday needs and afford suits and an entirely new wardrobe. he's ditched the flannel, blue/red t-shirts, and blue/red jackets. maybe he's borrowing from oliver, seeing as clark can fit into a certain green suit

Well he still runs a farm which means he gets money for selling corn and taking care of other people's horses...right?
Not to mention he hasn't gone shopping for new clothes in like 7 years.

I just dont think he's ever had a reason to own a lot of suits before....so he bought a few. I'm sure he has money in the bank...and the DP does pay him.

Obviously Tess approved of Clark and his tie. She's not the only one. :p Both Clark and Lois are dressing more professionally; Tess obviously has a stricter dress code.

Yes, corn has been going up. We have 20 acres and it will pay for my taxes and more...Clark saves his money. Remember when he bought his class ring and it was from money he saved from his allowance. He is looking very handsome and I think Tom is enjoying his new wardrobe as well, IMO.

He has a job at a big newspaper. They pay you for that. :) And maybe he bought the suits on a credit card if he hadn't gotten tons of paychecks yet. Or he borrowed some cash from his mom...she's a senator after all! :)

However he paid for it he looks good with a captial G! (as in 'Good golly that man looks FINE!!') I almost had my jaw on the floor at the end when he showed up in that suit.

Yeah, I think that he still earns money from the farm. Afterall, he can still do his farm chores in minutes and shower, dress for work and easily manages to get there on time, too. I agree; he must have money in the bank, since his parents really taught him how to be frugal, save his money and only spend when it's necessary, etc. Besides, it's not like he's been wardrobe shopping for anything other than inexpensive red, blue, & white T-shirts and Blue and Red jackets lately.

However, I would question how he finds the money to buy or Lease those Brand New alternating Red & Blue Toyota Tundra pick-up trucks since the end of season 6. /: I guess he was in between Leases during the episode "Action", because he showed up to his house when the Papparazzi were stalking "Rachel" in his Old, light blue Chevy (or Ford---I can't remember exactly) pick-up. What's going on? To advertise or Not to advertise???

Speaking of Oliver, did anyone notice that Ollie was wearing the button down shirt that he loaned to Clark to wear when they infiltrated Black Creek? Incredible continuity (except for the minor fact that it was probably badly blood-stained and may have been singed upon reentry into the earth's atmosphere...) Maybe Ollie has two shirts that are similar. If you look in my husband's closet you will see about eight of the same color and style shirt.

Clark owns at least, and probably only, two suits. He has worn a black suit to funerals and weddings (Reckoning, Promise, Descent). Also, during his father's state senate campaign, he wore a blue suit (Reckoning) or was it a blue jacket/khaki pants combo? At any rate, if he has a credit card, he can charge five cheaper quality shirts and a few ties at JCPenney or Target and where them with the suits.

Well, that is true. He probably has like less than 10 shirt in his closet, in fact I don't think he has a closet at all. :p

I also think that Clark's a real money-saver :D
