That is awesome. I didn't like the theories that she was Miss Teschmacher (sp?). The fact she's actually the Mercy we come to know in Superman actually makes me smile. Love the canon callback.

I always thought that she was a combination of the two characters with a new name or something. Not just SV's version of Ms. Teschmacher or SV's version of Mercy.

^She (or her name at least) IS a combination of the two characters.

I loved the reference though. That was pretty cool.

I had a feeling it was one or the other. When Oliver referred to her as "Mercy" during one of the flashbacks, and when she drove off in a vehicle that had "NOMERCY" on the license plate, those confirmed the Tess-is-Mercy theory.

TPTB confirmed that she is an original character, but based off of Tessmacher and Mercy.

I like how the title Mercy is a nickname from men she's intimate with. Because we all know Lex calls her Mercy in the comics. (Unless he's angry with her- "Ms. Tess-Mercerrrrr!!!!!")

She is Mercy and her name is an homage and nod to Ms.Tessmacher.

Yea they stated she is an original chacter but based on tesmacher, and mercy graves.

Kind of hard not too after tonight; there's no doubt in my mind. She kicked some serious butt, just like Mercy.

I like the combination of the two characters, but confirmation that the mercer part of her name actually came from the mercy character did feel good. I also got the feeling that there was a little Poison Ivy thrown in there as well.

no loss of cred at all. you see its a new season therefore you get new "cred points" because you need to learn the new "info" to apply to the overall "cred" that you currently possess. You just used one of those points to add new cred while making a connection to old cred thereby actually gaining an overall cred increase. atleast its a good story.... i'd stick to it ;) and yes too many rpgs/mmorpg's in my lifetime to come up with that haha

i have been calling her Mercy since day one...confused a few people along the way...maybe now everyone is up to speed..LOL

meh. i think all that did was confuse people more. They shouldn't have done that, and should have kept calling her tess mercer from everyone. now the Tess is Mercy people are having a field day. She is half Mercy.

She was always Mercy. She isn't Mercy in name only, she is a direct copy of DCAU Mercy when she took over the LexCorp.

and Miss Tessmaucher NEVER kicked a$$ like Mercy Graves...when she gave the guy a headbutt, my buddy yelled out, "Now THAT'S Mercy!!" PS3can claim a mix of the two, but the name Tess is the ONLY reference to the character in the movie...i mean traditionaly, Mercy is Lex's driver/bodyguard...

I love the fact that she killed that guy. I don't mean that in a torture porn "Saw fan" type way, but in order to be a villain of Lex Luthor's calibre she has to be a murderer. There was no way he would have let that guy get away with that, so I was glad to see she had the stuff.

It was always Mercy. The Tessmacher reference was only in the name. Let's be honest, how can you have a character based on Miss Tessmacher? She was just Lex's stooge, mainly there for comic relief.

Haha, I agree. The "NoMercy" license plate was awesome, too.
