Not exactly, there were some who didn't watch the chronicles or never heard of them. So I think it's a great opportunity for new GA fans to learn his origins. Besides from what I've seen so far Toxic is more in line with Oliver's origin than the chronicles.

i'm confused, i have been hearing that this episode is about the GA origin as you guys said, but how is this possible if the promo pics show oliver with tess in the wilderness?

Oliver was on a boat but he somehow he fell off it and ended up on an island where he honed his skills as an archer to survive. Eventually some drug runner's came to the island and Oliver fought them and made his way off the island on their boat. He returned to Star City and became the Green Arrow, SV's just adding to that saying that he also met Tess on the island. Hope that clears things up.

I think they'll both have details that the other doesn't.

I think you're right ClarkyBoy14. After all, the Oliver Chronicles couldn't cover every day he spent on the island. Toxic, will likely - and it is hard to say, since I haven't seen it yet - cover particular events that occurred and were not shown in the chronicles.

Ultimately, I don't think the stories will contradict each other. Instead, I have a feeling they'll just add more to our understanding of Oliver Queen.

^At least, I HOPE they don't contradict each other, considering TOQC are supposed to be cannon. :\

Personally, I could care less about Oliver/GA's origins. The show is supposed to be about Clark. To me, this is a wasted episode. I would much rather see more development on Clark, some insight into Davis, etc.. I am really not looking forward to this episode at all. I hope they at least manage to work in something related to Clark.

There wasn't even any dialogue in the chronicles, and most people didn't see it. Also it's always better having a live-action version. So no, it wont make the Chronicles pointless; they were entertaining for what they were.

Definately not a wasted episode.

I don't think it will be bad. I'd like to see more of Clark but if they are going to have JH as a series regular than they need to give more background history to the Ollie character/GA.

i think the OQ chronicles was better than this SV storyline...

If they focused on clark as much as fans wanted the show would be over after this season. However they don't and I'm glad to see the story of green arrow in live action like I'm sure all DC fans are

I enjoyed seeing it played out on the show. I liked the oliver queen chronicles, but it was nice to actually get to see Justin play out abit of Olivers past, and more importantly how he became so good with arrows...that scene was awesome!!

You & me both. For all we know Tom Welling may be done after this season. If that happens, then Justin Hartley will probably get his own spinoff within a year's time. They will make the same mistake (even worse) that they made last year by wasting Lex's final appearances with crap episodes like Wrath, Blue, Fierce, etc.

How would it be over? They said they have a whole other season they want to do if the CW execs pick it up once more. They could still have Clark as a reporter with all his powers, but not yet Superman. This may very well be the last season. Until they get confirmed for another season, they should treat it that way. I'm a DC fan, but this is a Superman show. Since season 5, it has been really getting diluted by many other non-Superman characters. The first 3 years of the show (which IMO were the best) showed that the show is better without any other heroes. I wouldn't mind a 1-episode limit per season on other DC characters that could show up, but I'd leave it at that. I wouldn't mind Martian Manhunter though, since Jor-El knew him and he is like a father figure to Clark.
