I do. I really look forward to see how they are going to end her arc. Obviously Clark will somehow get her out of the PZ so i really want to see why she will "leave" her cousin.

I find it odd that no one, especially Clark, has mentioned her yet and we have already seen two episodes.

Personally, I miss her, because she is gorgeous.

Show-wise, I'm not only disturbed that Clark hasn't even mentioned her being gone, but I'm mad that he hasn't even tried to figure out what has happened to her. What a horrible cousin.

I agree, I really like Kara's character. In fact the majority of the reason I kept watching last season was b/c of Kara. I really want to see her again

Well, the only ways Kara could escape the Phantom Zone are either to crack the diamond-shaped "gate", or for Clark to somehow get a message to Kara about the doorway Jor-El built in there. After all, she's blood to him, so she'd be able to use the doorway as well.

Kara was an awesome character (and played by a great actress) who saved Season 7 from being horrible..... But by comic traditions, Kara was not suppose to show up this early in Clark's life. So now she will need to dissappear for a while, and somehow do it without aging at all...... How will the writers pull that off? God only knows.

Kara is Clark's cousin, daughter of Zor-El, Jor-El's brother.

of course i miss Kara, she's one of the most attractive female stars to be on Smallville. maybe she gets out of the phantom zone when the legion of superheroes come to town. in the justice league unlimited cartoon, she goes to the future and stays there to help them fight, perhaps that will happen in Smallville too, which would give the Kara's character a sense of closure.

Kara is supergirl, even if you didnt watch smallville you should know that she's SUPERGIRL! its almost like forgetting that clark kent is superman to a less extent.

There’s a thread here on fan ideas of how Kara's story should be wrapped
http://www.kryptonsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93604

I think Kara should be frozen for 10 years in the Fortress of Solitude without aging…. But whatever they do, I agree we should hear Clark mentioning her name lots of times before she is able to return. Clark should be quite concerned about his cousin.

I don't miss her, because I wasn't convinced by the acting of Laura V.

But I agree with ForzaItalia that, for the sake of the continuity and the episode, where she obviously is going to return, Clark should mention her a few times.

On the other hand - how much did he ever mention his mother, who is supposed to be alive but is working in another town only???

I miss Kara, but think her character should definitely be a 5-7 episode character instead of a regular. I also agree with the poster that the fact that they haven't addressed Kara's absence, and Clark is obsessing about it, is another HUGE plot hole.

chlarker4eva08

^^ITA the fact that tptb hasN'T mentioned what they're gonna do with her yet kinda seems a lil weird IMO all they sed is that she's gonna come back 4 1 epi to close her storyline

If Kara's absence means more focus for the development of Clark we are all for that. However her character hasn't been treated very well. From Arctic when Clark realizes she is gone up to episode 8 or 9 when possibly she returns it is a loooong time. And what bothers me the most(someone above also mentioned it) is that he doesn't seem the least bit concerned.I know that with the Fortress being destroyed that Clark has no way of searching for her,but at least he could show some concern.

Regardless of if you want Kara back or not, it is simply ridiclous that Clark has not even mentioned her this season... Clark loves his cousin Kara and hates Lex.......why would Clark be concerned about Lex and forget about Kara?? It makes no sense.

09-27-2008, 12:19 PM
Nope, she can stay in phantom zone as far as i'm concerned.

There really is no need to bring her back for the last season, there are enough characters already. What would they do with her?

I'm not terrribly concerned about seeing her a lot, but yeah, mention her here and there Clark, even get Lois to ask him about her? And say hi to Martha while you're at it.

I dont post too much but I am an avid Smallville watcher and I so agree that it is really bad writing that Clark has not mentioned Kara. It makes no sense whatsoever. Not only is she his cousin but she is the only other "good" survivor on Earth (or rather was on Earth). He should be working furiously with the Martian Manhunter and the League to try and get her back.

Well, we Italians are very close to our cousins and it is so odd to me that Clark hasn't mentioned his only living relative in this galaxy. I mean, my cousins are just in New Jersey raising families and what not but if something happened to them, I would totally be there for them. Kryptonians must be the polar opposites of Italians.

clarkbunny

It is true that he should be doing something to try and find her.

I mean Lana got zombiefied by Brainiac and he is beside himself trying to find a way to make her better including making himself cease to exist.

His own cousin goes missing and he's like "Kara who, nah doesn't ring a bell"

I can't say I miss her though, the character was quite annoying and sometimes it was like staring at the scream mask looking at the dark circles around her eyes - it made her eyes look sunken in.

I do miss Kara, to a certain extent. I'm okay with her leaving the show, but I do want her storyline to be wrapped up. This season doesn't feel like there's a gaping Kara-shaped hole in it, but I am curious as to what happens to her next. I'm glad LV is coming back for an episode. I was worried for a while there. At least they're tying up loose ends.

clarkbunny
09-30-2008, 06:22 PM
yes it would be good for her storyline to be wrapped up 'cos I just can't figure out when or how she ended up in the Phantom Zone.

Did Brainiac transfer himself into her and travel back to earth with Clark, then when she dropped the bottle in the Kent's kitchen he came out of her and sent her to the phantom zone?

Or did he send Kara to the PZ then pretend to be her and send the message to get Clark to come to Krypton and he was actually the Kara that helped Clark save himself as a baby and the Brainiac that was crushed was just one of his clones?

If he sent Kara to the PZ then I can't for the life of me imagine what he needed Kara for in the first place?

Also if he was the 'Kara' that Clark met on Krypton why did he bother calling Clark back to Krpton to save himself - why not just kill baby Clark and get it over with?

I always did wonder how Kara was able to lift that massive boulder to crush Brainiac when her and Clark don't have any powers on Krypton - so maybe it was Brainiac afterall.

But what confuses me is the dropping of the milk in the kitchen, firstly why would Brainiac drink milk he is a machine? And if Brainiac did return to earth disguised as Kara why didn't he just kill Clark in his sleep?

So many questions, so if they could just explain what exactly happened that would be great.

I think Lex was DEFINATELY falling for Kara. Of course he had alterior motives, but he could have simply had his hitmen people tranq her and drag her to 33.1 the instant he located her in Detroit. Instead he talked to her for days and made friends with her and was really sweet to her. And don't forget that he was in awe of Kara because he saw her as his guardian angel redeemer after she rescued him from the dam at the season premier. I kinda wanted to see them together-not permanantly, but I wanted some sort of a relationship. I really miss Kara and it bothers me that Clark doesn't seem the least bit curious as to where she is. Braniac told him her fate was a "worse than death." So why isn't he freakin out right about now??? I guess the writer's don't want to focus on Kara because she's no longer a part of the show, which seems unfair since neither is Lex but whatever.:(

So many questions, so if they could just explain what exactly happened that would be great. There's definitely some plot holes involving Kara where the second half of Season 7 was concerned. As its been explained to me by others here, some of those moments are the result of the WGA strike last year. Apparently, the writers were so busy writing more than 1 script at once, they left out crucial story elements. I don't know any details, but that explanation fits as well as any.

If Kara had a better storyline, then I would be missing her. I DO miss John Glover though; they messed up his arc during season seven as well.
