I could be mistaken here, but something threw me off when Lois was talking to Clark. He made a face when she got him the obit, and then she said something like "There was a time when I would have given anything for an obit!".

When she was hired by Grant, didn't he kind of automatically make her a reporter? She was going out on field assignments and all that. I don't remember ever being low enough on the reporting scale to do obits?

I love Lois, but I'm not sure I'm feeling the way she's acting like she's this super experienced and established writer. And they show all they people saying hello to Lois like she's a big deal. But when Chloe worked in the same room (which is the basement, is it not?), people didn't act that way.

It just seems a little inconsistent with her background is all.

That being said, I do think it's hilarious though when she was telling Clark all these rules to follow lmao.

The Inquisitor.

She isn't acting like she's this super experienced and established writer. She is doing it with Clark. Big difference.

Actually, she said that she would have "killed for an obit", which I just found hilarious and ironic.

Obits are at the bottom of the reporter heap at most newspapers. Despite what Lois said, reporters don't write want ads!

I found it odd too. Because she started out writing stories for both Inquister and Daily Planet. No obits or anything.

Hhhmmm... well, I don't think that people were saying 'hi' to her like she's a big deal. The guy she stole the clothes from said, "Personal space, Lane?" and he wasn't too happy. And the folks she was saying "hi" to was more of a, "don't mind me while I stand in front of the phone booth" kind of a hi. They looked at her weird.

Chloe was shown - from time to time - as interacting with her co-workers. Usually when the plot needed it to happen... like Andrea in "Vengeance".

In general, I think that "SV" needs to show this sort of thing much more often... I think they have a tendency to show these characters as living in their own little bubble. This would become downright ridiculous when Clark and Chloe were talking (at the top of their voices) about Kryptonite and Clark's super-powers, while surrounding by her co-workers. At this stage, if they have Lois actually know the people around her, I would be happy, because Clark needs to be more careful.

And I don't think she was acting super-knowledgeable, etc... I think she was showing Clark the ropes, because - in comparison to Clark - she *is* more knowledgeable. She worked at "TI" for a year and has one year of the DP under her belt. That's 2 years over Clark. It just makes sense that she knows more than him, because she's 2 years his senior in the field.

The Obit Line: Yeah, I found it odd, too. What she could mean, maybe, is that she would have preferred an obit at the DP over some of the stuff at "TI"?? That was a bad line and didn't really go with Lois's backstory.
