"Plastique" in Fullscreen...WTH??

My local CW station in Dallas, TX (KDAF-33) wound up showing both "Smallville" and "Supernatural" in full-screen format tonight, as opposed to the usual 1.85:1 ratio (which "Odyssey" aired at last week). I don't think its my TV either, because other stations came in at 1.85:1, as did some of my DVDs filmed at that aspect. So, I doubt its the TV settings or the picture tube. Anyone else have this happen to them?

yea i know the feeling man the buffalo ny affilate i am watching cw on last month 3 rerurns and last week season premiere have been showing in fullscreen isntead of the normal widescreen mode and i dont know why. When season 7 episodes first aired they where all in widescreen mode.

WGN in Chicago does the same thing. Except, as far I can remember, they seemed to have rarely shown new episodes of Smallville in widescreen on WGN since "Blue" first aired. I also recall watching "Fierce" where literally the first three seconds were in widescreen and then it shifted to full screen.

Yea i am so pissed the buffalo affilate is doing this now when as i said first airings of season 7 was in standard widescreen mode, and also i am in buffalo for school but live in another part of ny as home location and i was home the past weekend and home cw affilate aired the sunday encore in widescreen mode, so what the heck is up with these affilate networks showing it in wrong formating.

Yeah it makes no sense. I had emailed WGN about this, and this all I got back in response:

"David:

Your email will be forwarded to our Director of Engineering.

George"

Well it's been three weeks since they sent that message. Still no change.

I mean, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that not only is it being broadcast in full screen but improperly so-A bunch of the names in the open credits are cut off.

yea i am planning to call the my cw affilate some time today(friday) and see if i can get to the bottom of this because i dont want to see the full season that i will be watching episodes in buffalo that is in full screen mode cutting things off.
