Mortal was one of the best Smallville episodes ever written, and I still love it. Now Plastique is second.

I never thought I would say this but "Plastique". Clark's first day at the Daily Planet and acting more like Superman. Tess potentially forming a team like the Suicide Squad, Legion of Doom, or one of the other villain teams. The first suggestion of Doomsday. It made a good episode.

I voted for Heat, mainly because that's when it all started; the heat vision. I liked Plastique just as much because it's Clark's first day at the planet. So I voted Heat on a flip of the coin

Heat is still my favorite 2nd episode. Introduction of heat vision, Krista Allen as a guest star, great Clark/Johnathan interaction, etc.. The best power episode without a doubt.

However, Plastique suprisingly comes in second place for me. I really enjoyed the episode overall and it has a lot of great moments.

Personally I think that Mortal is a bit overrated. It is a Clana centric episode and it featured run of the mill FOTW's. Sure you get to see Clark as human. But it wasn't the most exciting episode for me.

Wow. These are some great episodes! I voted for Heat, but I also loved Phoenix, Gone, Mortal, and Kara.

Hey, at least two second episodes had the return of the red plaid! Lois confiscated it in Gone and Clark took it back in Plastique. I'm still wavering between Gone and Plastique: shower scene and Clark and Lois fighting/working together versus Daily Planet and Clark and Lois fighting/working together. Must rewatch them all.

Heat is easily the best! Closely followed by Sneeze. I love the ones where he gets his powers. I was disappointed with Plastique even though it wasn't bad. Be interesting to see this team of Tess' take on the JLA.

I have to agree with you here.
Heat is definetly still my 2nd favourite episode. The Clark/Jonathon interaction is absolutely priceless.
I'm shocked that i find Plastique coming in 2nd after Heat for me :p
3rd would be Mortal.

yeah i loved everything in this episode... i was on the edge of my seat when Clark was being driven to Lionel :) and IMO that's one of the best Clana scenes ever... the only one that tops it is when Lana tells him she feels like she's missing out on life by waiting for him, end of legacy i think
