yeah i watched that scene again, i slow-mo'd it and i dont think his face was changing... but he was gasping for air..

That was Davis turning from Doomsday back into Davis. You could see Doomsday's forehead mold back into Davis' forehead.

Yea, from what I understand is that, well gradually see him turn into the classic Doomsday over the course of the season. Was he at all mad in the season premiere, no, he was all around good guy, so I do think that he turns into Doomsday when hes angry, and I think that Clark will do something to anger him, and thats what will set his course for him.
