View Full Version : Did the premiere seem like overkill to anyone?

I love the way that they do Heroes. It is IMO the best, incredibly written show on television, but did anyone else feel like everything was just too much happening at once. I mean I loved the premiere, but I just thought one too many things were happening within the two episodes. Anyone else agree?

yeah i feel like the two episodes could have easily been three or more.
i like that they are trying to cover ground quickly, but i hope they slow it down just a bit or it becomes overkill.
part of a good show is a steady pace and time for good dialogue and explanations.
then again the first season and some of the second were slow going because not much was happening then, now everything has come to a critical point in their timeline.... so this is where it gets exciting and crazy.

There may have been a lot going on, but it was well-executed IMO. As long as the writing continues at this standard, I'll be happy.

The episodes were great, but I completely agree.
NBC's idea to go big with this premiere was admirable, but it was over the top.
A one hour clip show, and two new 1 hour episodes back to back?!
Too much to process. :\
In the Live discussion thread, many of us were complaining of having a headache. This could mean one of two things. Either it was way too much action, or one of the Heroes was getting into our heads.
In my honest opinion, a 30 minute clip show, then episode #3-01 by itself, would've worked much better.

I loved it, but the extended length definitely hurt the already hurting ratings.
And the pre-show was terrible.

i didn't even watch the preshow, i watched it on G4 last night, and i can't blame you for saying you had a headache. i mean i took it all in, it just took me a while to sit there and process everything that just happened, but the season looks like it will shape up to be great to me.

There was one good clip in the preshow. Did anyone else catch the clip where Angella Petrelli tells sylar "this is (can't remember the name of the chick) and shes special, she can see the history of anything she touches." sylar says something like "whats she going to do" Angella "Feed You". Then you hear the screams of someone going through a lobotomy without being sedated.

I DVRed the pre-show to watch later and watch Terminator... I thought it would be way too much to watch 3 straight hours.
I just hope they find a good pace. People complained because last year was too slow, now this year is apparently too fast. They're never going to please everyone, but I hope they can find a way to hit a pace that pleases the majority.

9 months without hero... two hour premier is good to me. Like watching a movie without an ending:rotfl:
The preview premier was like a dog and poodle show. That actress who plays Maya posing was annoying. She's already an annoying hooker on the show.
The trailer previews could have been tacked in the end.

The clips from S3 were awesome- but everything else was horrible. Hayden is a bad host, the narrated flashbacks were either cheesy and uninformative or just plain idiotic (see: Who shot Nathan featuring people who we saw on the other side of the country at the time of the shooting as possible suspects).
