Totally happy with how they used the effects this time - they used them but did not depend on them to tell the story imo.

Claire's brain was pretty gross/cool. And the pyro effects were nice.

Both how Tokyo was destroyed and it's shift back into the present time was excellently done, and also the speed-stream left by Daphne was awesome.

Yes, the ribbon of air was incredible; it tracked with the camera movements in 3D space perfectly.
