I was kinda dissapointed that there was no ending scane with Clark & Chloe after Clark was ressurected. I mean I understand Chloe & Jimmy's ending scene, but I almost felt like there was a drifting apart feeling because there was no Chloe & Clark. I'm sure it's not the case though....it probably just happened in Off Screenville.:\

There was no Chloe and Clark ending because they wanted to hurry up and show Clark at the DP. I'm okay with that as long as it's something to do with Clark, even though I still don't understand how he's at the DP, but that has been my big wth! moment since Lois got in so whatev. I just pray he doesn't start sleeping with the boss too.:\

I imagine it's discussed in another thread at length (I'm quickly jumping around here), but for Chloe to say yes to JO when she is still so clearly devoted to Clark bothers me to no end. She says yes to spending the rest of her life, and fully devoting herself to the one whom she doesn't love unconditionally? Her yes was the one thing I was not expecting......

I was expecting it. I'd be pissed if she realized what she was saying but she doesn't. She basically said to him I was too busy looking at Clark to notice you but now I'm going to settle for you to try and live a normal life. She said it and didn't realize she said it, that's what's so important to me. And Jimmy didn't realize it either, but from upcoming spoilers something is going to be off and for that I'm grateful.

 You know, it just made me laugh that you said this because I automatically thought about how PS3 said that Lois would kind of think of herself as Clark's boss. So I can't really go with you on that one. I CAN'T WAIT until he starts sleeping with the boss...though I do admit that it's much too early for that now. *sigh*

I'm going to settle for you to try and live a normal life.

It's Clana all over again.

Clark wanted to be with Lana because it grounded him and made him feel normal. Now Chloe wants the same thing with Jimmy because of her experience and trying to deny what she is.

Yeah, it is a bit early for that.

You can't rush destiny.

Aw, I really don't want to seem like I'm picking a fight here, but I think that line could be taken in a couple of different ways. It could also be taken as...well, what a lot of Chlarkers I've spoken to, as I understand what they've said, have said they would like to someday happen with Chlark.

That is, Clark would realize that he's been too busy holding onto the past and the memory of his love for Lana, which was never meant to be to begin with (The first part of her line which, sorry, I don't have memorized but to paraphrase: "I was too busy looking at my feelings in the past...") to see what was right in front of him that he wanted - or, rather, SHOULD have wanted all along (or at least at present - "To see what I had right in front of me" would be the parallel.)

There are a couple of different ways to read that scene, IMO.

I wonder if Chloe will tell Clark about her engagement onscreen or if we're to assume that happened in Offscreenville as well. :\

Yeah, it is a bit early for that.

More than a bit, IMO, but the thought still made me laugh. ;)

I think that an ending scene with Clark and Chloe would have been highly redundant and completely out of place. They hugged and caught each other up at the prison. That was their reunion scene. Then, Chloe and he had a moment when she tried to save him...

MM flew with him to sun and then brought him back to his own house. Then, he told MM what happened to him and how he's letting go of his past; he met with Ollie; and then got hired and the DP and told Lois he'd be working with her. Sticking in another scene with Chloe (especially because we needed to see a reunion with Chloe and her boyfriend or it would have been weird) would have been completely out of place and unneccesary.

Also, I saw there as being a parallel between what Clark said and what Chloe said. The two both emerged from their respective prisons with a new perspective on life. And that perspective is: Don't let things from your past stop you from achieving happiness and fulfillment in the future.

So, Clark had to let go of the farm; Lana; and the stubbornly clinging to a way of life that didn't exist, anymore.

And Chloe realized that she's been holding herself back because of Clark. Some of it may be in the romance department, but I think it's even more than that... I think this will branch out to her being less of a sidekick and being more involved in figuring out her own life and her own goals.

And, to me, this is a good thing.

I had the same thought exactly. And there's no kind of, Lois does think she's the boss of Clark in my opinion.

I loved the Clark and Chloe reunion scene we got and then was subsequently gutted by the following scene with Chloe's failed attempt to heal Clark. They definitely still care for each other, but it's not sexual or romantic. Still genuine love though. Where I felt cheated was Chloe and Lois. Lois attempts to come to her rescue, Chloe tries to warn Lois, and Lois is knocked out yet again. Oh yeah, they really hate each other. Not. Need more cousin scenes.

With regard to eas' post, beautifully said and couldn't agree more.

Thats why Jimmy is such a douche. Chloe pretty much told him listen I can't have superhunk Clark so I am settling for the turd under my shoes. Marry me!!!!

I was disappointed about the lack of a final Chlark scene.I think back to the episode Bizarro where they had a final scene where they talked about the recent developments. It could have been useful for Chloe to talk with Clark about her altered meteor power.Or for Clark to talk about the changes in his life and maybe his decision about the DP.It was a statement of intent by PS3.This season the main priopities are Clois and Chimmy. And after Plastique airs we will have a perspective about the Chloe-Davis relationship. However, based on the spoilers from the upcoming episodes,it doesn't look good for Chlark(even though 2 episodes are about it).It is something that pains me.Season 5 was a favourite of mine because of the extended screen time Clark and Chloe shared together. However these days seem to belong in the past.

I kind of have to agree...I didnt think another scene was needed...it would have been cute, and I frankly never get enough of chlark! :o

But it wasnt needed....Clark explained when he recued chloe...and chloe new MM would save clark. So what else is there to say?

Well actually...I would have liked them to talk about chloe's new developing powers. But I think they left that out on purpose....so it can be a surprise for clark in the future.

I was hoping for a last Chlark moment but in reality I think it was good the way they left it. It would have been rushed if they'd put it in.

The next Chlark moment is going to need some proper time as they each have major news - Clark joining the DP and Chloe engaged to Jimmy. You couldn't squeeze that into 2 mins at the end of this episode.

I just hope we don't get cheated and that all happens in offscreenville.

I don't think Chloe will "end up" with Jimmy or Clark because she'll be dead before the end of the series. She's not part of the Superman mythos and she's basically a redundancy (she serves the same purpose as Lois - the aggressive female reporter). She has to go before he puts the cape on. It will happen. We knew it would happen to Lionel and it did. It will happen to Chloe too...eventually.

I didn't see it that way at all. I saw it as Chloe realizing Clark was just an unattainable high-school crush/love that she always put on a pedestal, while missing the real thing, that was right in front of her: Jimmy.

When I watched that scene I immediately thought of Scarlett O'Hara when she realized she loved Rhett and not Ashley.

Seriously... There's no indication that she's still devoted to Clark, and that's not clear for some of us. She cared deeply for him, but I don't think she has romantic feelings for him anymore. I truly believed Chloe and Jimmy's relationship is not fake, and judging from Chloe's reaction when Jimmy "take back" the proposal, she seems disappointed. Chloe is not stupid enough to accept his proposal if she doesn't love him, since she's the "genius".

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Jade, you cracked me up.

regarding the topic at hand, I do want to see Chloe & Clark's ending, but as far as I'm concerned, the DP moments to let people know that Clark's part of the DP now is far more important. I wished we have 2 hours premiere episode, but meh... It didn't happen :p It was rushed, but we only have an hour. :p I can understand with the rushing situation; now that SV seems to have a plot for Chloe, Clark, Lois, JLA. There are separate scenes with Chloe, Clark and Lois, and there are scenes with Clark and Lois, Clark, Lois and Chloe, then Lois with Tess. The storyline is getting wider and with less time, so thus... The rushing. but I'm quite happy with the season Premiere.
