View Full Version : Theory about Chloe's powers

I believe she might have lost her ability to heal due to Braniac. I don't think it was about Clark being unable to take advantage of such a power; I just think she's lost it. Instead I believe Braniac transferred over to her a portion of his computer processing ability which would now explain why she can do all these things.

Braniac > Chloe

Braniac < Chloe

Braniac = :(

Chloe = :)

Hmmm...that's interesting...I'm not quite sure I agree with it, but I'll concede that it's possible

I think that something happened between the two of them and somehow he either took her powers, or they switched... He was trying to extract information from her, but somehow he eneded up "downloading" her, so to speak. It seems crazy, but I really hope that chloe gets her powers back... It was really unique.

That's one of the theories I was thinking, but I also considered that Chloe may have a self-preservation side to her healing abilities, and to heal a mortally wounded Kryptonian may have killed her.

Well if you go back to the season finale of last season where brainiac goes to chloe and trys to do the same thing to chloe what he did to lana but chloe's healing powers completely drains brainiac instead. Chloe's healing power has that negative effect where she gets the cuts and if its really bad she dies but comes back after a while. I think while she was healing herself when braniac attacked her, instead of her getting the negative effect from her power, her power instead took brainiacs 12th level intelligents.

Wow that is a really good theory. It sounds really reasonable and makes a lot of sense... So instead of taking the pain from herself... She ended up taking some of braniacs powers... Maybe it was because he still had his little prod things in her head?

I think the new executive producers might be using this as a way to give Chloe the powers she really should have had in the first place. When we first learned that Chloe was going to have powers, everyone thought it had something to do with her ability to basically hack into any computer she wants to. When we found out it was healing, most of us had the same surprised reaction. Maybe the producers feel like this is a way to get Chloe's storyline back on track. Idk, i'm just trying to think outside the box here.

I'm not gonna lie tho, I am a little disappointed if Chloe no longer has the healing power. I've always had this vision of Chloe sacrificing herself to save Clark. The way I saw it, Chloe is never mentioned in the comics, so she obviously isn't meant to be in Clark's life in the future. It would have been really cool if in the last episode or something, Clark was almost killed and Chloe had to heal him, but the effort killed her. I think it would almost define her as the hero she really is. Once again, just my odd thinking here.

I hope she still has her healing power. I like the whole Chloeiac thing too, but the healing is just what I'm used to.

i think chloes power is basically the manipulation of anothers life force, i believe she links to them in a sort of empathic way when doing so. her power must have a defensive side and that is what began to drain brainiac, which is how she attained the high intelligence.
she wasnt in the process of healing herself when brainiac attacked or she wouldnt have wound up like lana, instead her power was trying to drain brainiac to stop the attack.
brainiac wouldnt just accidentally give her the power and as far as we know lana didnt gain anything from brainiac so i am assuming choles power is offensive as well as defensive.

she can still heal, she just cant heal a kryptonian. they are different species, it would be like her healing a cat.... i doubt she could do that either.

I totally think the change in Chloe is linked to Brainiac, and it will be interesting to see how that storyline unfolds.

Didn't we see Brainiac quickly scroll and process computer data in S5 similar to the way Chloe did in this episode?

I think that you're referring to Baern in S6....I don't think we ever see Fine with a computer in S5.

Oh, I think you're right. Baern at the DP searching the archives.

i dont think chloe has any link to brainiac at all, besides the fact the she accidentally absorbed one of his powers while defending herself from him.

if that is where her storyline is going that would pretty much suck.

i hope they take her character and develope her power as much more than healing...

Perhaps it was self preservation that she didn't heal Clark. It would have killed her no doubt. Clark needed something as powerful as the sun to do the job. If Chloe lost her ability due to brainiac i don't know. I guess we'll wait and see.

Yeah it is was I am thinking too, I actually posted it on another thread, we'll see if she lost her healing powers though, there might be another reason why she couldn't heal Clark
