That Russian city is on the Artic circle. Considering that Clark had some debts with the Russian guy, it's very easy to assume that the debts are related to Clark getting there.

I'm pretty sure he explained how me met them on oliver's jet. Then they put him to work and wouldn't let him leave or call for help.

On the jet Clark said he started hiking, blacked out and woke up on a Russian fishing troller. That boat took him to the work camp.

I saw some one on youtube of Clark on a ship but of course they never use all the film they shoot. It would have made more sense but hey at least we could 41 mins in this episode, including a min of flash backs.
I found it but I have a feeling that shot is from the movie, oh what was that movie he made when he was on a boat?

It was "The Fog".
Actually I didn't understand either, why he ended up in that camp and why they treated him like a prisoner. But maybe I literally didn't understand it? Must rewatch it a few times I guess.

Remember he was fighting Lex and when they were in the FOS and when Lex "left" and Clark tried to get back home but couldn't because he didnt have his powers so he blacked out and i guess the fishing company found him and he went to Russia and they thought he was a slave....I don't know....this is just a guess.

He said he woke up in the middle of the Arctic Ocean on a fishing boat, after passing out. I'm guessing the fishing boat guys took him there.

I was really bummed out that they rushed through this so quickly. I thought this part of the plot really needed far more exposition, and I would've liked a few more scenes. It was wrapped up in 5 minutes. I keep thinking what a cool show it would've been to see a bit more of Clark's journey, how he got there, why they wouldn't let him leave, etc. As it was, it seemed to be less important to the writers then very long scenes with Tess, often repeating the same thing she said in the previous scene. :\

My guess is that he passed out and was picked up by the fishing boat. The fishing boat sold him to work camp, or was part of the work camp. I guess they were charging him for their rescue of him knowing that he had no way to pay them back except with slave labor.
This stuff really happens in Asia and the Middle East. Men (and women, too) think they are leaving their village to be paid to work as a laborer in some major city and then end up as slaves.

lol!!!
I think the season 8 DVDs will contain a lot of deleted scenes of Clark in Odyssey because his entire Odyssey took place in Offscreenville.

they just don't have enough time to explain everything. He said he started hiking and there was so much ice and snow he couldn't see anything and next thing he knew he was on a Russian boat.
So think about it. You take some guy to your country and make him work like a slave to work off the free trip. Remember the guy said to him, yes you can go home when you pay me back.
Yes it was the fog, thanks for that

Exactly my thoughts. It's a shame, really. Less Clark scenes but more, IMO, boring Tess scenes.

I don't think anyone has said this yet but that "Trailer" on Youtube is obviously a fake. It contains scenes from Superman Returns and Transformers: The Movie (2007)...not to mention "The Fog" which starred Tom Welling...

no, you didn't. Something about an "unshaven Clark" was mentioned on the spoiler page for this episode. So I expected a beard, too, but maybe those scenes have been cut out, who knows :(
