So sort of a tradition of mine to question where Jor-El is every time we don't see him in an episode.
Where is he this time?
Personally, I hope they do bring him back at some point this season, along with the fortress. It's my all-time favorite Smallville set.
Vote away :D

I voted for other. Because in one of the TV guide interviews or one of their columnist's articles; it mentions how in like the 9th episode Chloe gets dementia & Clark asks Jor-El to save her and erase part of her memories "which hints it has something to do with him". So apparently Jor-El comes back by the 10th episode which is said to be the last new episode of this "sweeps". Jor-El will come back with the "triangle" stone that was in Tess's briefcase. It's probably a duplicate of the combined original 3 stones from Season 4. I would hazard a guess that...if someone were able to acquire the device that could "mind control" Clark. Jor-El would then strip him of his powers which I believe was the explanation by MM as to why he was powerless this episode. Therefore making it impossible for the traveller to be controlled by a human. (Very anticlimactic to the whole Veritas storyline last season which makes me believe that Lex's final storyline was pointless but it is effective to have the villain become "evil" for something that would never actually happen at all). Because Jor-El would never have his son much less an immortal controlled by a human who would undoubtedly use Clark to not help humanity but to further their own power. And despite some people's beliefs on the forum, Jor-El would never sacrifice his son's life as he is the last Kryptonian. In the comics, Christopher Reeve movies, & a little bit in Smallville it is shown that Jor-El is extremely proud to be Kryptonian & would do all in his power to see the "greatest civilization" in the universe remain influential in some way.
--Anyways Jor-El sacrificed the FOS when Lex showed up since he was in control of Clark at the time & upon the destruction of the FOS sapping Clark's powers; Jor-El would leave a duplicate of the combined 3 stones for Clark to find & use to rebuild the FOS but as Clark said when he woke up. He just started walking off away from the site where the stone was excavated. Clark will probably just get it back in one episode a little down the line from now, & use it to rebuild the FOS. I can't see them going back to the caves especially if this season is all about "leaving" Smallville. How many episodes in the past have there been when Lex has had something that Clark didn't want him to have resulting in Clark stealing the object in the very same or next episode?

In the crystal. But I like the 2nd & 3rd options (though I want him to freeze Ostroff in a block of ice & don't want him off the show).

Jor-El has been secretly replaced by Zod and is back in the Phantom Zone torturing Kara.

^ No he's in the real world torturing Dawn.....by putting her in a block of ice and then melting her and then re-freezing her and then melting her and then refreezing her and....well, you get the idea.

I guess a fake Lex will show up on Tess' doorstep and make her "come to Jor-El" as he sucks her through a Luthor mansion wall & reprograms her while putting her intervening mother in a coma.

I guess my joke about Jor-El (Terence Stamp) being replaced by Zod (Terence Stamp) was too subtle.:\
Jor-El is most likely being a shiny crystal dog collar gem on Shelby's collar because he and Shelby are keeping tabs on Tess in offscreensville.

I knew it would have been taken that way. But I actually did mean it to sound innocent (basically redoing the events in Covenant, but with Tess being Jor-El's b*tch instead of Clark).
