I actually have a little hope for season 8; a lot of the ties were cut from the gough/millar storylines, and there's just a glimpse of clark being more in line with the dc universe concepts. Impressions? thoughts? opinions?

I agree with you. The show is just getting worse and worse. It should have ended years ago..... In the pilot episode, I really could see how this kid with powers would someday become Superman. But each season I see it less and less. And this Season 8 premiere I saw it less than ever.

For some reason, I still have hope as well, that smallville will resemble the dc universe more. It's been said that season 8 is supposed to be the "superization" of Clark. But then again, that's what they said when season 5 came out...and season 6.....and season7.

I don't think that's what he was saying... and I agree. I'd sort of written Smallville off as entertaining at times, but not Superman. But with the ties to Veritas gone, I think that it can be salvaged. The big question is, will they?

I loved Season 7. I hope Season 8 is it. The only thing that will salvage Season 8 for me is Clois. Real Clois. I'm a Clana fan, but if I can't have Clana I'll be happy with Clois. I don't want suppressed feelings. I don't want quiet despair. I want Clark and Lois to be out and honest about their developing feelings for each other. Since the producers have said this isn't going to happen, I see no hope for Season 8.

You know I kind of feel the same way. I remember how Clark was floating in the air and they never show anything of that whatsoever. I dunno they should just change the name of the show to Metropolis now since he is not in Smallvile anymore.
