I believe she's actually a combo of both Miss Tessmacher and Mercy Graves.

I don't know if I would've caught the link immediately myself if I hadn't already read what people said about it in the spoilers. (Probably, though.) I think the name was more of a link to Miss Tessmacher, but her character is much more like Mercy from the comics & the Animated Series.

Somehow I don't think Smallville's Lex would put up with someone like Otis--he'd have him killed early on!

I don't like how they mixed two people so that "everyone" would be happy. Now nobody is happy. We don't have Eve Tessmacher OR Mercy Graves. Not to mention Hope Taya!

i have no idea... i mean they name davis bloome doomsday even though he's nothing like it, but they don't name this woman mercy even though she'd be an acceptable fit :(
