Did anyone else find this line in the opener to be incredibly prophetic of the whole Palin phenomenon? I mean Im sure the scene was filmed before Palin came on the scene, but it really almost seemed to be a direct reference. Anybody else think so?

In the sense that McCain could likely be dead by the time January comes around, yeah the whole Palin/Tess analogy seems to work really well.

I was also thinking since Lex was also President of the U.S. in one episode...

Considering this was written months ago, it's very prophetic.
Tess Mercer as VP would have a nice ring to it though.... under President Lex of course.

I would say its only profetic if mcCain and palin win the whitehouse in the next election. Though anythings possible with this next election and history will be made no matter who wins since we will either get the first black president the first female vice president or the first independent president and vice president.
But back on topic since I don't want to drag this thread into politics I wouldn't consider the usa an obscure region only the portion of luthorcorp tess came from would be obscure and Alaska isn't obscure so I don't think palin would count as this being a refference to.

In the sense that McCain could likely be dea.d by the time January comes around, yeah the whole Palin/Tess analogy seems to work really well.
What do you mean that McCain could be d.ead by January? Do you mean that if he's elected and when he's sworn in as President people are going to kill him? If that is what you mean, then it could very well happen the same way with Obama. The K.K.K. (Ku Klux Klan; prejudiced people) will probably get him, since they already attempted to from what I hear.

he was in two he was seen as such in a vision that clark had and when last season jor-el sent him to a reality where he didn't exsist lex was prez
