So...I was setting out to go on disliking the chimmy relationship, like I always have. But....if the writers are committed to it, I supposed I'll give it a chance.

I thought their scene tonight was cute, a bit akward...(chloe accepting a proposal he took back) but one line stuck out to me...which makes me think the writers really want us to buy into chimmy. For real this time.

"Which makes you perfect for me"-Chloe

I think they did this to deliberately point out the chlarkers....that chloe isnt looking for mr. perfect (Clark) who yes.....compared to humans, is perfect.

So....if they go about this the right way this season, and if I'm stuck with it and have no choice, I could possibly give it another go. I dont want anymore of this Jimmy jealou crap, or Chloe/Clark romantic moments if they have no intention of following through.

So here's hoping they do it right this time....because I have a feeling its not going anywhere.

Yeah, as I posted in another thread - for about 30 seconds they had real chemistry. If they keep this up, I may not hate Chimmy.... well, at least, not as much as I usually do.

I might find myself liking Chimmy genuinely for real. Maybe. We'll see how it goes.

I just desperately want Chloe happy....so if this is the way they are headed, and they make it believable this time around, I can get on board.

My problem has always been Jimmy's jealousy....and then, I know a lot of people never see it....but the writers constantly had this sexual tension between chloe and clark. I know...people may say I have chlark blinders on, but I think I'm usually not biased about these things...and I saw sexual tension. Just like I saw tonight for Clois. ;)

So...as long as all that stop, Chloe is truly happy with jimmy...and chloe/clark agree to be just friends....who knows, I could even like Chimmy again!

Thats why I think my mind is changed a bit too....I completely believed chloe this time. It wasnt a desperate attempt to keep eachother...it was just honest. Which I loved. So if she really thinks jimmy is her perfect guy, then so be it. Of course...I'll need to see proof this season, but I'm not ruling it out anymore. For the same reasons you said....Chloe was just too convincing.

I dont know....I thought that was weird too. I watched it tonight, and I thought "whoa...where did that come from?" It was convincing! Most of the time...Chloe tells jimmy "you are my guy" and I dont buy it. But this time...I dont know, she made me a believer! Well...kind of...as long as it goes this way, who knows? It wouldnt be the worst thing in the world. :\

Agree with you.........But maybe Jimmy was scared that Chloe might said knowing that them had been on and off a lot of times in the past....so maybe He was expecting Chloe to say NO and, if she had say no, he maybe thought they would have to broke up, so he just took the proposal back because he was scared of that. But Chloe loves him and AM said "Chloe is so much in love with Jimmy" so I believe her.....and I wanna see the episode, I haven't see it yet,so..........

I think it's shown an interesting progression in her character. Not to compare Chlark to Chimmy overall, but the Chloe in S1-S3 and maybe even after would have accepted what Jimmy said and gone off in a corner to cry in private.

Tonight though? She was like, "No. I don't accept that! I want you, and I want you to know I want you! So stop being an idiot and listen!"

It kind of reminded me of Sports Night, when one of the characters tried to break up with his girlfriend but she didn't accept it. So he was like, "Um...you don't get to not accept it! It's done! This isn't done by vote!"

And she was all like, "Nope. I don't recognize it." So he goes to ask her friend out in front of her to show that he can, and her friend is like, "I can't. You're dating Natalie."

And then Natalie got on the loudspeaker and said something about, "Just so everyone knows, Jeremy tried to break up with me but I don't accept it. We're still dating. He's seen me naked many times. Sometimes I do a little dance!"

I could so see Chloe being like that. :lol:

Hmmm...you know...I'm not thrilled with everything Chloe did this episode. I was very unhappy in the rescue scene with her just totally ignoring Lois on the floor. (Lois had just been tasered trying to save her.) But I'm hoping something was just cut that shouldn't have been or something.

Anyway, it's possible that I do see some hope for me getting some of my love for Chloe back, that's waned over the years. I don't know; I liked her take-charge self today. But I think it'll depend a good deal on whether or not they bring back some Chlo-Lo.

I guess we'll have to wait and see! :)

That sounds like an exact copy from a scene from a UK show called 'Coupling'...Is this American verson?....Cuz i love that show...I'm kinda obsessed with BBC...:o:D

Anyway I agree with rest of your post...'take charge Chloe' kicks a** She seems a lot more...Chloe than she was last season...Does that make any sense?..I kinda wasn't as avid a Chloe fan last season..... I've always loved her character...But last season she just rubbed me the wrong way a little.... However, I think I'm gonna love season 8 Chloe a lot! :D

Me too...and it bugged me when I smiled, I thought "wait no...I hate chimmy!" I'm like you, all I want is chloe to get her happy ending, and if Clark wont be that guy....then I want someone just as worthy. In the beginning I though that could be Jimmy...then it just went down hill.

So if the writers can prove to me chlo/clark have no romantic feelings and jimmy isnt jealous...then I can tolerate it, if it makes chloe happy.

Agreed. She didn't let him run this time, she and Jimmy shared that problem as seen in Gemini, but it means enough to her now to fight and grow and not let it go.

I thought AM really looked almost ethereal in this scene... I'm not sure why... but it was really neat and she didn't pout and Jimmy didn't say a thing about Clark in his fears.... he just wants to be with her... *sighs* Best Chimmy scene since Gemini.

No, I understand where you are coming from. And, in fact, Chloe even says at that point, "I let feelings I had in the past get in the way of what I have in the present..." or something like that.

I don't think it's a stretch to assume that she was referring to Clark there. I mean... it could be many things... she could even be referring to the hurt and anger she had when Jimmy dumped her to go off with Kara (trust issues) and she was saying that she was letting it go now... maybe.

But I think that Clark is not a stretch. It seems that what they both went through in this episode has put something into perspective for both of them.... both emerged from their respective prisons wanting to change the direction of their lives and to grab happiness by both hands.

That's pretty cool. :)

I hear this a lot... that Chloe & Jimmy are too young. For all the reasons that I have against Chimmy, this is not one of them.

I was 18 when I first met my husband. He proposed when I was 19. We got married when I was 22 & had our first kid when I was 23. I'm now 30, with a great job and two beautiful children. He's a graduate student and finishing up his dissertation right now... once he's done, I plan to go to law school.

Not only did us marrying early NOT stop us from achieving what we wanted in life, I fully believe that we wouldn't be so happy and have met our personal goals without each other in our lives to encourage each other and just be there, day in and day out. A spouse is a person who can change your life for the better - if it's the right person. Whether you marry about 19, 30, or 50.

Anyway, that's just my $0.02 on that. I'll clambor off the soapbox, now. :lol:

Nope. I don't like them together. Jimmy is cute and quite good character by himself. But with Chloe, he's insecure and not on her level. She can do so much better than that, she's still young.

It's a matter of perception. I see Chloe as a sexy, career-driven, intelligent woman. But apparently the writers think differently since they paired up with the GEEKY KID FIGURE of the Superman mythos. Really I see that pairing almost like an insult.:lol:

As deciding to root for Chimmy because it makes Chloe happy, I'll reserve that kind of sacrifice(putting personal feelings aside for someone's happiness) for my friends and family. Chloe is a fictional character made for entertainment. If she doesn't entertain me I don't see the point of just putting up with that. There are writers who are there to change things if they want to.

Also I want to clarify that I don't ship Chlark either. So unlike what TPTB might think, it's not just members of a certain ship who doesn't like them.

Just because he's small doesnt mean he isnt a real man. If you look at chloe's track record (excluding clark) she tends to go for the smaller guys.

Plus....Bart is perfect for Chloe in just about every aspect. I think the reason she is so attracted to clark is because of his hero complex. Then....she is attracted to Jimmy for his innocents. Put those together...and who do you get? Bart!!! :lol:

I believe (now I could be wrong) but he was 18 in season 6 'Justice' I thought...I could've sworn he said somewhere in there he was now of legal age...So that would make him about 20 now...And Chloe will be 21/22 I can never keep track of these crazy characters and their supposed ages. :lol:

Chimmy is like ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz. Good cure for your insomnia is to watch their scenes over and over again. The only way to make them watchable is if they give us a mature Jimmy and we all know that isn't going to happen. Chloe pairing up with a houseplant would be more interesting.

I think that whoever Chloe ends up with needs to be a little bit more...hmmm...I don't want to say "laid back" than her, but I think it needs to be one of those people who doesn't get too wrapped up in life and can encourage and help Chloe take a step back and live a little, enjoy herself.

Chloe's a girl who takes life very seriously - and with good cause - but I think sometimes she forgets to take a step back and laugh a little. Enjoy herself. Throw caution to the wind and have a good time for a few hours.

I think she needs someone who isn't going to get wrapped up in things the way she does. Who laughs a lot, and who makes sure she takes the opportunity to do the same. Someone who doesn't always take life seriously - but, of course, someone who DOES take it seriously when the situation warrants. A nice balance.

I have hope for George. He had an adorable smile. He seemed like the kind of guy who didn't mind laughing, and with Chloe's grin, it looked like she was used to laughing with him. :)

I honestly would normally agree....but the way Chloe spoke last night, I kind of believed her for once.

The only reason I would ever want Chimmy to work is for chloe's sake...I really dont think chlark is going to happen...as much as that breaks my heart. :(

All I've ever wanted is for Chloe's character to be happy when it's all said and done. Now...if she cant have clark, and she truly loves Jimmy...then I'm just hoping it works out and is the real deal. Because I want Chloe happy...

So trust me, I'm not thrilled about it....heck, I'm not even totally sold yet. But if it has the potential to make Chloe truly happy....I'll see how it goes. One episdoe at a time.

I'm really hoping Dooms isnt the writers twisted version of George...because thats not even funny. But considering he has a hero-esque job as well....I can see them doing that. What a dirty trick...not to mention, how could chloe/jimmy get married? Jimmy isnt married in the comics....so that could start an uproar.

Who knows though...I'll keep my options open for now.

George. Well, he looks like has the age to drive and take a drink with Chloe. That's one good thing. But I don't know enough about him to make an opinion. But he looks like a step-up from the other suggestions.

I see Chloe with someone who is secure enough to support her in what she does and help brings the best there is in her. Also, I perceive Chloe as a passionate person and I see her in a relationship that displays it. Perhaps that's why I can't get behind Chimmy.
Finally it would be good to have someone who won't be looking at other girls (i.e Jimmy with Kara while being with Chloe).

About Doomy, I think you may have hit on something. I'm under the impression that he's 'Clark in disguise' to a certain degree, but with an extremely dark side.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. One of PS3 has said there's a lo of chemistry going on between Chloe and Doomy and there's some romantic undertones (he/she said something along those lines).

Also, SW has said Davis is the one most likely to steal Chloe's heart away. Too bad he's such a nice guy at the start. If he wasn't then maybe the Chimmy engagement would only last a week or two.

Anyway, sorry to any of you of you Chimmy fans. Despite my feelings about it, I do hope you all enjoy it. Believe it or not, I'm being honest when I say that. I think ALL shippers should be allowed to enjoy their ships, no matter what ship it happens to be.

I'm a Chlark fan, but Chloe is my favorite character, so if she is happy really happy and loves Jimmy truly loves him, I'm happy as her......If the comic world were different I will put Chloe and Clark together first, that's all I can say....but right now let's enjoy Chimmy moments, they are happy together, they already said it in the premier, they want and love each other and AM said that Chloe is so in love with Jimmy!

The scene was well written. Visually it was a lot like the proposal scene... the lighting etc.


I think Jimmy in that scene was just trying to brace himself for rejection, and felt maybe he was rushing Chloe, so he semi-retracted it. But then she surprised him by saying yes.

I agree. It reminded me of "Gemini" in that respect. The way Chloe tried to dismiss their end-of-the-world kiss and Jimmy didn't let her. It was nice to see Chloe cutting through the B.S. and not being insecure and second guessing. I was so afraid that it would drag out and out and out with her answer.

The writing was really good the way they acknowledged Chloe's crush on Clark and her reluctance sometimes to fully commit to her relationship with Jimmy. I also loved how they acknowledged that Jimmy's not perfect and that's perfect for Chloe. Great line. So lovely. So sweet.

I'm very happy right now. I'm going to enjoy all the delicious Chimmy I can get. :D
