Does anyone else love The Shield?? I personally think it is the best cop ever made. It takes a realistic look at corruption and Michael Chiklis is amazing as Vic Mackey. The rest of the cast is great too. My favorite character is Shane played by Walton Goggins. He is hilarious!! " My name is Cletus VanDam". LOL

Season 3 premieres March 9th!! They have been advertising it like crazy. I have been waiting forever for season 3 to start. Season 1 was awesome, season 2 was even better, and I hope season 3 can manage to raise the bar even higher.

I've seen it a couple of times but never like watching him beat up the people he's interviewing. I can never make out if he's good cop or bad cop? He scares me anyway :(

That is the reason why Vic Mackey is such a good character. He has some very likeable traits and he is good at his job. However, he also plays by his own rules and looks out for himself. Believe it or not, Mackey is doing the greater good. He just does not play by society's rules when doing it. For example, the money they stole at the end of season 2 belonged to the Armeanian mob. Why shouldn't it be put to good use? They did not kill anyone to get it. The Armeanians fought amongst themselves. He may have ties with drug dealers, but it leads to bigger arrests. Vic has never hurt anyone innocent, only criminals who deserved it. He also always looks out for his fellow cops. With the acception of the beginning of season one when he killed a member of his team. He had to do that to save his butt, and it was out of desperation. Survival of the fittest. The guy was going to take them down.

Vic Mackey is not a perfect cop, a bad husband, and does some very questionable things, no doubt about it. But, I have never doubted that he was trying to do good as well.

they will sit on the money they stole from the money train... and one by one the crew will die off. untill only one is left with the money... and then something bad will happen to him. (vic) or he will give it to his wife and kids

Ok I wont post anything unless asked to. I just got in from the wrap party at the White Lotus this evening. CRAZY NIGHT!!!

I work in Transportation for the show. It is slated to come back next year, but possibly a little later due to some cast members having movies at that time. We will see!

I have been missing this new season but I have to admit this is my favorite show next to Smallville as well...Vic Mackey is such a great character you love him but man he is corrupt since he is a cop doing what cops arrest people for doing which always bothered me. how can you arrest someone when your doing the same thing for whatever reason? According to the previews for episode 5, it will be the episode that changes everything. I must say that it does look extremely good, and might be one of the best episodes to date.

As far as last night's episode went, man that was an awesome fight scene. I also laughed my ass of at the end when the decoy squad had to streak through the barn.

I would actually say that LAST NIGHTS episode was the one that changes everything. Next weeks, is more of a David Acaveda storyline....but it has some very important strike team/money train info as well......

After watching last night's episode of The Shield, I felt like I was at a WWE event because I wanted to chant "Holy $hit.. Holy $hit.. Holy $hit.." That had to be the sickest thing I have seen since the film Deliverance. Very good episode though. The only question now is, "When will the photo pop up?"

Next week's episode looks like a good one, but it seems to have nothing to do with the big picture at all. They should have aired this episode at the beginning of the season before they got the ball rolling with the marked bills.

Itll tie into the series, they have done an amazing job this season with using some "filler" episodes, but making them "count" towards the finale at the same time.

Smallville could learn from that this season. Having episodes that seemingly mean nothing, and then three episodes later it becomes clear that wasn't the case at all, seeds were being planted. Far to many examples of dead ends this season.

Another good episode last night.

I love how the rapist angle is taking the whole season to pan out. Watching Dutch and Claudette as a team is great.

I hope that Tavon wakes up. I'm hoping for a little street justice though, wakes up and beats Shane.

My prediction is that Owen is molesting Vic's daughter Cassidy, and that is why she has been acting all weird and wants her father around all the time. There is something about Owen that I just don't trust.

Well there WILL be something we find out about Owen, yes. But it is NOT what you spec'd. Cassidy is played by Chiklis' real life daughter for those of you who didnt know that. Her deal is revealed by the seasons end. As for right now chalk it up to her parents going through a divorce....

I'd like to think that Dutch's concern over losing that computer with somewhat questionable material on it is somewhat innocuous, however most things on this show are not.

Also, I'm beginning to wonder if Shane's girlfriend is actually pregnant. I'll tell you, that's the worst kind of relationship to be in, a woman that demands all of your time work and free.

Ok, this last episode was absolutely smashing. Left with may questions, maybe lecks can offer some insight.

It seems to me that both Shane and Dutch could potentially be gone by the end of the season. Shane because he's completely gone off the rails and is going to marry the worst possible type of woman that you could marry. Dutch because obviously he is flirting with the more unsavory aspects of his job.

Secondly it's becoming clear that Vic is going to have to get his three kids out of that house. And it seems for the moment that Owen is out of the picture.

Any thoughts?

While season 3 has been pretty good, it is definately not up to par with the previous two seasons. The one thing really bugging me is the direction they are taking the money train incident. At the end of season 2, Dutch was beginning to investigate what happened. It would have been great, if Dutch became obsessed with the case, and it turned out to be the one case he could never solve. Then as the show is winding down, he finally manages to figure out that Vic and his team were responsible. The unrespected and somewhat joke of a detective, ends up clensing the department of its dirtiest cops. It would be poetic justice for the Strike Team to be taken down by one of their own, and not outside forces.

The Strike Team also seems to be working more by the books this season than in the past. We are not receiving the same type of suspense from questionable actions that we did in the past. The money train incident has the Strike Team walking on egg shells. They should have never brought in the Decoy Squad, and they should have had Vic and his team be the same bad ass dirty cops they always were to show that the team thinks they can get away with whatever they want.

To make things even worse, they are thinking of taking Shane and Dutch off the show for next season, which are my two favorite characters. Shane's antics provide for the most entertaining moments, and Dutch provides for the good solid police work. Watching him interrogate suspects is one of the best aspects of the show.

The show is coming back in January of 2005 with 15 new episodes. But if the show continues going in this direction, and loses two of its best characters, will the show even be worth watching anymore?

By the way, I have watched The Shield since the very first episode, and it has become one of my all time favorite shows. There has never really been an episode I disliked. However, the last episode "Strays" was absolutely horrible. The fact that David Mammet directed it only made me more upset. He is one of my favorite directors. The episode was boring from start to finish, and the ending upset me because they are having Dutch go against his nature. I love seeing The Strike team be dirty because that is what they are meant to be. But, Dutch is meant to symbolize ethical behavior and good solid police work. Seeing a guy like Dutch intentionally murder a cat pissed me off and disturbed me.

I can't wait for the new season to start, i met Benito Martinez, the guy who plays captain aceveda, and he said this season was gonna be awesome, and that a lot of interesting things were gonna happen. he also said Glen Close was really cool to work with, and i'm thinking she must really shake things up.

I love this show, one of the finest on TV IMO. The new season starts up Jan. 10 on FX. So far from the promo's Vic finds his conscience and its in the form of I.A.B Lieutinant played by Forrest Whittaker. Thoughts...

This is one of my favorites if not number 1 show...I didn't care for Glen Close's character last season especially since I thought the 3rd season was the best yet for this show. Her character did start out good but seemed to fade as it went along. I was psyched to see Forest Whittaker he is such a good actor and it looks like they will be at each other which makes it look like an awesome season. The Promo's look awesome and I just hope it is even better..:D

Yeah people watch. Just seems like forever since I seen new episode :) Its a safe bet that Mackey is the father. I just want to see what goes down when Mac finds out that Shane killed Lem. From the stuff I've heard, its going to end bad for Vick. All the wrongs catch up with him and its going to be OH so fun to watch.

A great farewell to the show....outstanding final episode....left a few loose ends....but perhaps somewhere down the line they might make a DvD movie or something, but regardless....one of the best cop shows ever. So long Vic.
