I think the finale should have been longer like 90 min to 2 hours which would have explained a lot more for what'd happen with the last scene. Which surprised me that the fortress is destroyed but thinking that when kara and brainiac went back in time that they changed the future that when clark left krpton that brianiac made/discover the device and sent it to earth so that he can be controlled.
So originally that device was never sent when clarks ship left but when the events in apocalypse happen the device was. Which is sad now because I am confused as to what happens after that last scene. Since MR is not coming back they probably show it but would talk about it so I guess we'd wait for the Season 8 premeire
