No Surprises?

The description pretty much gave away every major thing that happened in the entire episode. They didn't leave us any surprises. Now I know it's probably my fault for reading this stuff all the time but not even the other spoilers gave away this much info. I remember last year even though I read the spoilers, I was still a little surprised at the end . But this description left the episode with nothing to make us be like "WTF?" Anybody agree?

only surprise I didn't see them air on commercials was brainiac playing as kara. Otherwise i agree, no real wow moments, not even the crumbling FOS

The only surprises were :
Chloe's power fighting Brainiac
Brainiac too easily killed by Clark.
Clark goes to battle Lex with no idea what to do
The Fortress exploding for no rhyme or reason, except for the episode running out of time.

Now no one knows what the Veritas device does after seeing this, as nothing makes sense anymore

Jimmy really thinking to back out of Lex's "deal" and everything would be fine

Lana making an advanced video in a barren hospital room, to end a serious live-in relationship with one of the most powerful men in the world, to be hand delivered by a nurse

Apparently the fortress has no protection at all that makes sense

Jor-El doesn't talk or display power in crucial moments anymore

Again we're surprised by how easily Clark is made powerless

Again we're surprised again by how easily the fortress is harmed

And of course, the biggest surprise was that the most important element of this episode, one of the most important aspects of the entire show, the exit of one of the show's most important characters....was FOUR MINUTES long.

Yep, you're right, this episode was filled with surprises we never saw coming!

I don't like CW descriptions or previews for Smallville, if you think about it they gave us the final scene as well.
