Seriously,he shouldve beaten Lex senseless and TAKE the Traveller controller fromhim!! OR heat vision it out of Lex's hands! Or Heat vision the DEVICE since he cant touch it!!!

This was garbage, does Clark not understand the whole "world in peril" situatopn and realize Lex is a threat and treat him as such??? THERE is NO REASONING with LEX. Did Clark not learn that in Apocalypse? He tried to reason with Lex there and was SHOT for his trouble.

I was hoping Clarkwouldbe able to Deal with Lex and send him off to jail for the finale. Isn't Michael Rosenbaum QUITING Smallville as of this finale? What are we going to get anotheractor playing Lex next season? If so that sucks , because I was hoping to be rid of the Lex character. (At least till Clarks is actually SUPERMAN).

Great season finale, but anticlimatic ending that was forced (you don't have to render your hero a comeplete idiot just to expedite a cliffhanger in the last five minutes).

You have to think about it as Clark would think about it.

It's a glowing purple orb that might have the ability to control him, he has no idea how it works or how it controls him.

The entire time he was keeping his distance from it, that and also it seemed to weaken him the closer Lex got to him.

Yeah last time he messed with something, he stabbed Brainiac and released Zod. He's probably thinking, "no thank you!"

I think the question is, he knows he can't get close to it, why not destroy it with his heat vision

hold on that for a moment and think of this

why would jor-el give a device to humans that can control clark if he goes bad that clark could just simply destroy?

Maybe all Clark needed to do was throw a wrench at Lex instead of sweet talking to Lex.

I thought the same thing- why couldn't Clark just grab it out of Lex's hand before Lex activated it?

You have to think about it as Clark would think about it."Lana Lana Lana Lana pie Lana Lana Lana Lana farm Lana Lana Lana feed Shelby Lana Lana Lana."

"Lana."

I could see if he assumed that, but to not even try heat vision, is a plothole.

;)plot hole you say, now why would tptb ever do such a thing in SV?
Seriously if ever CK grew a pair, it should of been in his FOS. Before he becomes superman, he's going to have to take up a martial art or self defense class or something.

Kryptonians can't hold the device, as Kara showed when she tried to touch it.

I was thinking the same thing about Clark usign his heat ray to make Lex drop it.

But I was also wondering where the heck was Jor-El? Chloe went there with Lana and requested his help, why didn't he help Clark by stopping Lex?

Well if i remember correctly when Clark first approaches Lex he seems weakened by the orb...

I thought CK would have used heat vision to just take Lex out - I mean come on.....sure CK looked a little weakened by the orb but I have a hard time believing that CK would have just stood there, he could have at least wounded Lex, shot his arm off, and where the hell is Jor-el - what does he have no power in the fortress anymore? Is he on vaca?

Yup.

When Clark tried to move closer to Lex, the orb flared up.

Heat visioning kryptonite earned Clark a bout of blindness - I somehow doubt he'd want to heat vision a purple glowy thing which obviously hurt him.

And much as Lex has a soft spot for Clark - vice versa. Clark will never be able to seriously hurt Lex because of their past together.

I was wondering if he was going to give that a try. I think one idea could be Clark wanted to attempt to reason with Lex about it as opposed to attempting a heat vision that might fail. Lex appears to have control over the fortress and the orb. If Clark had attempted to use heat vision and failed then Lex would definitely go against him, while trying to reason with Lex he has a chance.

What I mean about the control over the fortress and orb is the fortress could restrained Clark from using heat vision or any other ability. As Lex put it, the orb was meant to be used by humans and would protect him. Which is why he was able to travel to the Fortress of Solitude while the other expeditions were lost. If Clark had used any of his powers, the orb may have protected Lex.

Lex owns superman, the real lex luthor will never go to jail because lex luthor is god.

clark can't destroy the purple crystal because it is made for humans only kryptonians cannot destroy it nor touch it and as kara stated it is meant for humans only. :)

Most definitely Clark should have used his heat vision or super breath or something to knock Lex out and get the orb away from him. He was far enough away from the orb to be able to do SOMETHING!!! I was very surprised he didn't try to heat vision the orb, he saw Kara heat vision kryptonite when she saved him from the pageant girls.

What I don't get is - if Kara was really Brainiac then why the hell couldn't she pick up the orb? Or was it not meant for Kryptonian robots either?? ha ha ha ha

Yeah he definitely could have burned Lex's hand to make him drop the orb and then blown it far away. But then we wouldn't have a cliffhanger.

/\ but we would have an GOOD ending.. for lex's last episode, not much happened of significance.. a few words were exchanged nothing that is INTERESTING TO THE VIEWERS..

we deserved a bit more from that ending.. it would have made up for the weak jimmy/chloe interaction the former scene consisted of

I suppose the Orb is similiar to Kryptonite- if it was to control the Traveler, they wouldn't want him to be able to get ahold of it and smash it. Pity he didn't bring a non Kryptonian friend along to save the day ala Chloe vs Brainiac in the last Fortress showdown *roll eyes*

Now Clark actually has to stand up for himself (and his destiny) without a Chloe- Lana- Lois -Kara crutch. Although the idea that Jor- El destroyed the Fortess to save Clark may be feasible, ruining the entire Clark doing something for himself.

I digress.
