The way the fortress crashed had such a resounding air of finality about it.

I guess that's kind of good because next year no Lionel, no Lex and limited Lana will make the show's dynamics significantly different.

I think my favorite finale cliffhanger has to be Covenant. It seemed like everyone went down in that episode. As for season 8, I'll be interested to see what happens to Chloe next year.

Lex was arrested last year, so Chloe should be okay. Things like that work itself out with time. The JLA will probably break her out. I'm wondering about Kara in the PT - is it the 1980's PT if she never left Krypton? In that case Raya could tell her about the El escape route.

I voted for the last one. The only people this year that are in danger in the finale are Chloe, Lex, and Clark unlike other finales (such as "Covenant" like Mar-El said or "Phantom") where everyone is in danger.

The last scene was kind of an WTF moment, since we know MR isn't supposed to be returning next season...so WTF?

I really thought the finale would be better, with all of the character's futures sort of in question and not just a few.

Jimmy's proposal was out of no where and strange.

Lana's break up was OK. Clark took it seriously; so will I. Actually, I thought KK did a good job here. i do not like the idea of self sacrificing Lana being the reason that Clark mans up to his destiny.

The disintegration of the FOS was the only cliffhanger that peaked my interest. Wonder where the boys went. Did Lex suffer severe head trauma which will put him in the long term care facility? Chloe is in jail. Jimmy's inept. Kara's in the PZ. Lionel is dead. Martha has abandoned her son. Who will come to Clark's aid? He looked pretty incapacitated.

They all sucked. I didn't feel like there was any cliffhanger. My sentiments at the end were "who cares". This was a serious disappointment. I thought that after seeing Phantom last year, they knew what it took to make a good finale again after the previous abomination that was Vessel. But Vessel was a work of art compared to Arctic.

That FoS ending was awesome, it also raises a couple of questions.

One thing I noticed, when it was falling apart, it wasn't really falling apart, it was just like when it was first created, only backwords.

I can't hide I'm bitterly disappointed by this season finale. Can someone explain to me what went through the writers' head when they came up with the last scene (Lex vs Clark + destroying the FOS, besides finding a good excuse for Clark not starting his training next year)? They managed to destroy all the Veritas storyline, too!

The orb will send them both to the PZ and from there with the help of MM & SG, because once again the writers will make Clark weak, they will all escape the PZ. And in the process Lex will come out with some coma/memory wipe that he will eventually get through with the help of Belreeve or Miss Tessmacher. And in escaping the PZ like last time; will unleash Doomsday. And then the Show Finale will be Chloe and Jimmy in a very long wedding dance with Shelby being the ring bearer.

since i had to vote, i voted Jimmy and Chloe, because that was the strangest scene. None of the characters are truly in any jeopardy. Clark and Lex are NOT going to die, Lana is leaving Clark ... well that needed to happen. It was an odd scene also ... a DVD goodbye, what was that??? I didn't think this was the best writing. there should have been a whole episode devoted to Lex and Clark finally confronting each other with Lex finally knowing the truth.

the cliffhanger in the middle of season 7 was best. Don't you remember when you find out before the winter break that Clark is really bizarro the whole time. That was the best ever!

i still feel they shoulda brought kara back at least and the whole no lex is kina a bore then again this might be the season the show maybe can wrap its head about him flying,etc and becoming more superman-esq rather than what he is now

I personally didn't see the whole Chimmy proposal coming, at all! I was like what! Really Jimmy? After the roller coaster of a relationship you and Chloe have had? You're answer is to propose to her and hopefully everything will be set right?!...REALLY!?
This is exactly the reason why 50% of marriages fail.

However, I will admit that, it was the cutest proposal ever, and a small part of me wants Chloe to say yes...But there's a bigger part of me that screams 'NO!" Chimmy is not ready for marriage, not by a long stretch!

This episode was a little lame to me. I understand that the whole Clana ship had to end(it should have not lasted after S5 to be honest!), a DVD to Clark to end it? Just a little too lame for me! The whole Chimmy scene with the proposal was ridiculous! I know love is blind Jimmy,but you don't propose to a woman you know is in love with another man(especially if he's her "Man of Steel"). Now Kara trapped in the PZ is actually a good cliffhanger because it gives you an entirely different angle to worth with. And while the clash between Clark and Lex coming to a head was long overdue,with MR not returning next season,who's gonna fill the arch-nemesis role????? So many questions.............. :confused:

Well it can't be Kara in the phantom zone because that isn't close to being resolved yet..Kara's name hasn't even been mentioned yet this season! I'd say the best was the final scene with Clark and Lex in the fortess as it was falling apart..
