How the hell are they making us think anything other than Lex being buried in the Fortress?

And why was the Fortress destroyed? Was it not meant to control the Traveller, but rather destroy him? Braniac's plot? Very confused here...

Wow that ending came out of no where. I thought maybe Jor-EL was going to intervene but this was so much more dramatic. Now we have to wait 4 months for the answer? That suck!

I actually thought it was pathetic. They better rebuild the Fortress in Season 8.

They are gonna explain Lex's disappearance by just having him not be found in the Fortress wreckage.

They should have had Jor-El banish Lex into the Phantom Zone when he put that globe thing on the crystals.

I loved it! I think the Canadians were so upset last night because we know that MR is not returning so it seems that this is where Lex will be left. But I disagree having seen it for myself. That last scene is a completely unresolved cliffhanger. I have to assume that the rest of that scene has already been filmed and will be edited into the season 8 premiere. There is no way Lex or Clark could end it there. MR will be back in the premiere with previously-filmed footage and get a more "worthy send-off" then.

Kara is completely unresolved as well. They can't just leave her in the phantom zone. How cruel is that? Lana is unresolved too. I mean, c'mon, she broke up with him in a "Dear John" DVD? Good thing Lois just happened to be stopping by or Clark would have completely lost it.

I will admit it is the best cliffhanger of the series but doesn't this mean that Michael Rosenbaum has to come back for at least one episode next season to resolve this, controlling clark/ chloe in dds. Although I would have liked some more time devoted to the fortress scene with more Lex and Clark back and forth chatting.

Lex yea i agree with you guys hopefully they filmed something with him and clark to use in the preimere to explain were lex goes. That was crazy! I have NO idea how this will be resolved next season. I hope they have some extra MR footage shot, because it's gonna be hard to get out of this without him around!

As far as giving us absolutely no clue what may happen in September (I doubt that even the writers know yet), this is the most mysterious cliffhanger yet. Exciting? Maybe not so much. But definitely a huge question mark. It's realy gonna be difficult to speculate with so little information we have going in to the next season.

That is why I liked it: One big question mark to ponder all summer long. I hope the writers do not disappoint me.

I picture the premiere picking up at the very microsecond that the finale ended. Anything else would be lame.

I will be upset if the premiere opens up three months later with "Tess" explaining where Lex is. The thing I need to remember is that the finale ended with Clark being completely incapacitated. He looked paralyzed from the neck down by the way Lex was holding him. That cliffhanger has to be resolved and it includes Lex. We have not seen the last of Lex Luthor. :D
