The main things that happened in the finale were :
Brainiac infects Chloe.
Clark destroys Brainiac thereby freeing Chloe and Lana from Brainiac.
Clark tries to talk to Lex in the Fortress instead of fighting but Lex would not listen.
Fortress decides to do something and collapses on both of them.

This episode may have been changed from a series finale but at the beginning of this season they did not know they had an 8th season allotted to them, and this entire season was supposed to wrap up clarks childhood and give him the opportunity to become the man of steel.

This entire season, not just this episode, was an epic fail.


And I have been watching the series from episode one and own most of the seasons. I don't think season 7 will enter my collection.

My impression is that Clark did accomplish a lot in season 6. I am not sure what Clark forgot to do in season 6 that made season 6 a failure.
In season 6, Clark did learn a lot about Krypton bec. of Kara, Lara and Zor-El.

I know, and I couldn't agree more with you. It was a major disappointment. When I started saying last night how bad Arctic was, a lot of people got their knickers in a twist and said "Are ya crazy!?! I am sure it will be an epic finale...." And I just rolled my eyes.

I was counting down the Canadian episode, hour by hour, minute by minute, in the live discussion thread and I was SO HYPED. I looked forward to it, praising how awesome it was going to be...boy was I wrong. Turned into pure & utter crap.

I couldn't even sleep or eat after last night's finale..at how disgusted I was. This is the pay-off we get after being fans for 7 + years? Talk about shameless.

Just ludicrous.

I learned a valuable lesson last night. Never again to get high expectations from this show again. I gave it chance after chance, but it didn't live up to the hype..only a few episodes in the past did, but most have not.

Thanks a lot Al/Miles, good bye & good riddance. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Listen youre disappointed cause you think the show owed us some huge payoff wrapping up seven years in 40 minutes. Did anyone tell you WE ARE GETTING A WHOLE OTHER SEASON??

The thing is this was a cliffhanger. Cliffhangers dont give payoffs. It wasnt shameless. It was a pretty great episode actually, especially the last few minutes. And we STILL GET MORE...thats the good part. They werent trying to wrap up the show. They were just continuing the story.
