View Full Version : The end of Brainiac?

Have to comment on my boy. Brainiac seemed to be blown into little fried Brainy-bits, but there could be a way back. He's made copies of himself before, and this could have been one of them.
I still think that he hitched a ride back from Krypton inside Kara, because of her pain the last time we saw her (Brainy-birth). I think he then put her in the Phantom Zone (there was no time on Krypton).
This doesn't mean we'll see Brainiac again, since James announced yesterday that he's working on a new project in the UK, but I think there's a door open in Smallville so that we could.

Superman has only 2 popular villains in Lex and Brainiac and both always come back for more fights.

How does this happen to Brainiac again? You know the whole blown to crap part?

Brainiac has probably stashed a bit of himself somewhere if he needed to return as always, oh and James said he wanted to return for sdome S8 eps.

they didnt really explain very well what the hell was going on with kara at the end of apocalypse, and not in arctic, maybe its not something we'll find out until season 8-ish

Brainiac was charging himself like an electric car. Brainiac lost power when Chloe's healing power damaged Brainiac.
Clark pushed more electric cables into Brainiac and Brainiac probably overloaded and so exploded.

Brainiac always comes back. End of discussion.

"I am the Brain Interactive Construct, No matter my form, my intellect remains formidable...do not underestimate me"
With this quote in mind (my personal favorite) i have a feeling we wont see the last of him, and with Doomsday in S8, maybe he can comeback wanting a powerful body (if they somewhat stay true to the comics) to go along with his brain, IMO anyways

The thing is.....................
Lana and Chloe came out of their comas (meaning Brainiac HAD to have been destroyed)...
Or he released them from their comas and faked his 'death'
Hopefully they explain it next season.
Brainiac's defeat was really rushed though, he isnt anywhere close to the villian I wanted him to be.... hopefully they can do a better Brainiac in the next Superman movie.

Is he really gone? Many people on this site seem to think so but I thought Brainiac could rebuild himself from the smallest particles or always have a back up copy somewhere. I love this foe and feel it would be good to see James Marster's reprise this role next season.

He gone.

He's not dead, that's just a way to conclude any leftover storylines in case they choose not to show him again.

Brainiac just went to robot heaven temporarily but he will be back.

Depends if the show can afford JM next season.
I suggest they get rid of Tess and Doomtender to pay his salary. And everyone else they need to, except TW.

No Brainiac isn't dead.

I thought the piece of Brainiac Clark looked at floating about symbolized him somehow returning in the future, by even the smallest piece...

There is still second half of that box, from Season 6 so he can be back.

It reminded me of Linda Lake, with the stream of water being followed to the drain
IMHO as of now, Brainaic is dead, so it comes to if they can afford to get JM back

For the sake of the series, i hope Brainiac will come back. Otherwise he too was given a weak finally and the weird you can't kill humans dialogue

Of course he's not dead! He's Brainiac! He's a major enemy of Superman's!

He can't be dead. He just can't. I agree, it was rushed. It seemed as if the whole episode was, but I still loved it.

Brainiac can't die, it defies all incarnations of the character, to kill him would be worse than bringing in Doomtender. Of course, they could just not feature his next revival on SV.

I can't see this being the end of Brainiac. He even mentioned that Clark couldn't kill another man as if to put the idea that Braniac wasn't a man into his head so Clark could justify taking him out. Seems like Brainiac manipulated Clark to me ala Ben from Lost.

He came back from just a little bit of dust this season so he'll probably come back the same way next season

I thought that when Chloe was using her healing powers in self defense, it turned him into human. And when he told Clark that he wouldn't kill a human being, unbeknown that Brainiac got turned into human, Clark took a life. That BrainIAC clone was a human.

Brainiac is never really "dead"
He was impaled by on the Fortress console (Solitude)
He was vaporized by Lionel channeling Jor-El (Oracle)
He was stabbed with the kryptonian dagger (Vessel)
He was impaled on Krypton (Apocalypse)
He exploded from electricity (Arctic)
He always comes back!

So... is he really dead this time? Cause this is what... the 4th, 5th time he died?
EDIT: BTW, thought the idea of Chloe's powers messing him up was pretty interesting, although since he's a machine, I don't quite get how that would work but heck... I give'em points for trying. Loved his line though "What the hell are you?"

I actually expected the electric wires that Clark plunged into him to feed him and power him back up... thus leading into an EPIC braniac/clark battle. Suffice to say, I was disappointed.

Man, I hope he comes back. The good thing with BRAINIAC is even if they can't get JM they could still use another actor since he can take any form, though JM is great at the role.
PS. they could use the guy from T2!

He survived as a vial of goo before, he can certainly survive this.
The death was a bit rushed - "We have this weakened being that needs power to regain its strength...let's kill him with electricity!" - he's made up of what appear to be countless nanomachines, he can replicate Kryptonian powers and has an almost limitless processing capacity - It would take more than the output of a power station to overload that (although the "crying" black tears was rather cool)
So is he dead? That copy, perhaps, but I doubt he's invested everything into that one form.
