View Full Version : Chloe to the Rescue?
Superman of Krypton

Quest was a great episode (thanks to Lex) but wasn't a bit silly for Chloe to fly all the way to Montreal, Canada to help Clark when she could have just got Kara to superspeed there and save him ALOT faster (like in Traveller)?

I haven't seen the episode yet but isn't Kara still laying on the floor covered in milk? :p
Just kidding. ;)
It is kinda silly I guess but I can't complain cause I love when Chloe comes to the rescue! :D

The whole thing is silly. Veritas members think that helping Clark (the Traveler) means trapping him with Kryptonite and inflicting physical pain in some way.
I would feel sympathy for Lex, but he is just evil and him dying would not be a problem for me after everything he had done.
So yeah silly is the word.

kara wasnt in this episode and we've had plenty of crazy people on smallville, so if edward teague thinks its good for clark to carve symbols into his chest (looks excruciatingly painful, btw) then just go along with it :p
at least thats what I do :p

Chloe's time warping super jet is pretty dumb. OTOH, it is far from the dumbest thing in this episode.

Of what I read was thanks to Oliver.
She'd still need 2 hours to pass customs. :P

Kara was sleeping the whole day, why wake that cuTie up to save that loser Clark who's unwilling to kill an ant or an evil human.

Why would she need to do that if she got Ollie's jet. I wonder is it an invisible plane?

Chloe showing up made no sense you have to figure Lex got at least an 2 hour lead(especially when you consider Chloe having to get tot he airport) and when he got to Montreal he probably made a mad dash towards the church

Kara wasn't supposed to be in this episode, so they couldn't have done that. Really, they can only use the characters they have available to them.

I thought it was at first until she said it was Oliver's jet. Then it made sense. Also... from what Jimmy told her, Clark was going to be sacrificed so... yeah... pretty urgent.

But yeah, I agree it was silly she got there so fast. The only unintelligent part of this otherwise brilliant episode!

When she picked up the cross and smashed the stone, all I was thinking was: Super Chloe? Huh? Since when exactly did they add super-strength to the list of Chloe's abilities?

His lead obviously wasn't 2 hours. It was about 10 minutes. Jimmy brought there the photos right after she hung up from telling Clark the Luthor Corp jet just left for Montreal. So she left also.

Lex was in the sky when Chloe found out what was going on. It would take at least 1 hour for her to get in a jet and head towards Montreal when she figured out what was going on. So let's say she found out the second Lex's plane was in the sky you have to figure it 1 hour behind, i am just going on the assumption that lex was in the sky a bit longer then that.

It was actually Tony Stark's jet. :P

Maybe Ollie's Jet was faster than Lex's. After all, he's a super hero and needs to get places quickly. So maybe he has a couple of them, and Chloe gets to use one.

I would normally agree...that Clark needs to man up and handle things on his own now and then. But in thi situation...I'm not sure how that could have happend. I mean...kryptonite was everywhere...he had massive wounds on his chest...I mean, at the bottom of the carving there was literally no skin left.
The only thing I think he could have done differently....would be thinking ahead. He just never seems to use his brain. He rushes into things....and then the worst always happens. When Teague started turning on him, he should have gotten out of there....or anything. Just think a little you BDA. sheesh.:\

I could be completely wrong here...but arent jets faster then planes? I think Lex was in his private plane...and chloe took a jet. So maybe not that far of a stretch that she got there shortly after? Dont quote me though....I remember hearing jets are faster...

They need to stop using Oliver as a deus ex machina plot device...
It got old when they used Chloe for that

Yep, that just is a superspeedo, able to get to the exact spot that where Clark is lickity-split. This is as believable as Jimmy-the superspy.

that was the one big gripe i had with this episode, that and all of lex's security being killed off so easily.

Well I don't think u can blame clark for running in head first this time,Teague turned on him right after he heard clark knew lex was evil. The moment he turned on clark he used the greenk,so it caught clark off guard. Now 1 could fault clark for listenin to him in the first place, cause even clark himself says he never asked for any of them to protect him.So if he didnt like what veritas stood for then he should have known it was possible Teague might turn on him, lionel has in the past.I don't blame clark for gettin capture tonight,he had no way of stoppin himself from gettin strapped down.

It would have been worth it for the star of the show ,the main character Clark, save himself and take care of business here without the help of Chloe. As much as I like Smallville getting Clark in situations where he has to rely on Chloe for just about everything is becoming a real drag on the series.

I totally forgot about that! The Kara thing, I mean.
I did think that is was all a little fast. How she found him right off. But, every episode is only so long. They do have to fit all of those Stride, Toyota, and Gossip Hurl...uh...I mean Girl commercials in.

This is why I said it should have been Kem-El (or whichever Kryptonian it was in SV that visited the Kawatche 500 years ago and started the legend). We should have seen him travel to the present (i.e. the future as far as he's concerned) in this episode and meet up with Clark and get the details he needed so he could go back in his own era and go to Earth to meet the Kawatche and start the legend, thus bringing it around full circle.
