Is it just me, or was this a pretty confusing episode? There was a lot of stuff packed into a short amount of time. And it wasn't action or filler, it was a lot of informaiton to take in.
I was pretty confused throughout the whole thing..

I thought it was great. If you've watched it for a long time it has all come together tonight

If the symbol on Clark's chest is permanent, he won't need a Superman costume anymore.

I didn't find the episode that confusing, I understood what was going on. You're right though there was a lot of information to take in and not much action.

I agree with this, I liked the continuity of the episode, especially the last clue being in the mansion in Scotland that Lionel had moved to Smallville. I thought that was cool.

I got to say, this episode definitely changed my mind about Veritas. At first I liked it (in Traveler), but began to despise the entire plotline in the three episodes that followed. Now I think this is great because it leads to Lex discovering Clark's secret, which I believe is an awesome concept in and of itself.

Got to say, Veritas really paid off in tonight's episode.

Yeah, awsome concept, specially the part about MR leaving after that and the fact that there will be absolutely no follow through with this major plot development:rolleyes:

Yup, Im going to be laughing my a$$ off with this "pay off", see the thing is, either Lex forgets and makes pretty much all the episodes starting from Traveler pretty pointless, or he stays with that knowledge but we dont actually see what he does with it, what´s the point in that. In both cases we loose and Lex knowing Clark, affects absolutely nothing

Sorry if I sound bitter, nothing against you, its just that after recent spoilers this Lex arc, suddenly became really, really unapealing.

Kal-Ed, I definitely understand where you're coming from. I, myself, feel the exact same way, but I figured if you're going to get rid of Lex, you might as well have him achieve what he's been trying to do for the past seven seasons - find out Clark's secret.

At least this way, assuming he does retain that knowledge, if MR ever DOES return for a guest appearance, it will make a great episode (or dare we pray, a couple of episodes), because it will add a whole new dimension to the show.

I hold out hope that MR will return for the Series Finale. Even if he doesn't though, at least his character progression would be 'complete' in a sense. At least that's what I think. I can see the logic in the opposing argument as well. :)

Since Smallville a while ago stated they don't have to follow the Superman mythology and they're not worrying about people recognising Clark, maybe they won't worry about other plot holes.

I think Clark and Lex will team up and destroy Brainac, because Lex still cares about Lana. And another crazy idea of mine is: Lex will keep the secret because all he ever wanted was Clark to be honest about him and to find the truth about what happened on the bridge in "Pilot".

I was confused as to why Lex didn't know the tune was called Loch Lomand :)

Couldn't they have written another melody the audience wouldn't recognize?

I loved it. I wasn't confused at all.

It really paid off long time viewers though... so if you haven't watched from the beginning... I can see how it would be REALLY confusing.

To me this wasn't a confusing episode, to me it's the needle of the hey. Now we know Edward Teague and Dr. Swann had bigger roles than before (Edward a disciple of Swann willing to sacrafice Clark for the balance of life; Swann send clues around the world for the Traveler)

It wasn't confusing at all, you have to connect the dots and understand the whole series's story. It's best to watch every single episode to make it more clearer.

Well, we might be in a minority, but I am with you. I found the whole thing confusing. I think if I could watch all of the DVDs for the previous seasons and keep it all in my head for a little while, then I am certain that I would find some major discontinuities and plot hole that have been open wide by this episode.
