The way Brainiac made that creepy grin right before Kara "killed" him just says it all: he had a backup plan.

That's one of the Brainiac character's iconic traits: no matter how many times Superman/Clark "destroys" him, Brainiac is always smart enough to leave a piece of himself somewhere else before the big battle, so that he can return. There's no doubt in my mind he'll be back again.

Well, if you saw towards the end of the episode.. that Kara falls onto the floor; well of course, that's Brainiac... maybe a piece of him went inside of Kara and is there.. controlling her. I don't think you could ever kill Brainiac because he always manages to cling onto life.. since he's basically just liquid that could mold it'self back together.

Spoilers say . . . Kara's been in the phantom zone and Brianiac has been impersonating Kara.. So, I don't think Kara is infected by Brianiac. I thought so when I first saw her grab her head and collapse, but after reading the spoilers I think she's just a Brainiac clone.

The question is why would she try to kill Brainiac and why would Brainiac not try to kill Clark on Krypton? Well, I have an answer, but I feel the plot is too complicated for such a long episode arc. Nevertheless the TPTB might do it.

I think Kara is a CLONE of the real Kara made by Brainiac just in case Clark was able to make it back to the past and stop him. If Clark hadn't gotten there, Brainiac would've killed baby Clark and the Kara-clone, and it would've been over. If Clark does get back, the Brainiac made Kara clone would go back with him to the present. She's a sleeper, and like many of the human-cylons on BSG, she thinks she's the real Kara. Slowly, the Brainiac programming will reassert itself in Kara-clone, eventually taking over. Kinda sad for the Kara-clone. :(

That's what I thought. Then when she was telling Clark they should go back in time to Krypton to try to heal Lana and the way she put her hand on Clark's and the way he looked at her, I was sure it was Brainiac morphed into Kara. But then when she was going to the kitchen in the middle of the night to drink milk out of the bottle that did not seem like Brainiac at all. It seemed like Kara, but Brainiac did something to her.

I wish I was not aware of the Spoilers involving Kara and Brainiac, because now I am distracted and confused instead of just enjoying the ride.
