View Full Version : Clex scene at the end......
SmallvilleMan

I thought that it was an interesting scene..........You could see Clark was fighting himself in whether to accept Lex's help or just try to keep faith that he could some how help Lana himself........I don't think there's much doubt either that Lex thought this had something to do with the traveller........Also surprised Lex had the balls to go see Clark, although playing the "I want to help Lana" card, he probably thought he was safe. Tough scene for Clark.

It made think about all the old episodes when they've been in the barn together. Like in Hug when Lex tells him "Our friendship is going to be the stuff of legend." Or in Bound when Clark tells Lex "I thought your father was being more honest with me than you were. And I hated that feeling. I felt like we were enemies." I got goosebumps when I saw Lex in the barn. LOL

Surreal. For a second there, I wasn't sure whether their relationship was the same as before.

I agree with ya SmallvilleMan, I could see Clark trying to decide if he should accept his help or deny it. But hey, theres gonna be another Clex scene by the previews of next weeks epi!

I think the Lana issue is going to bring them together (at least for a few scenes) to battle a common enemy (Brainiac), which I remember being noted in the spoilers last year. That is, of course, if the strike didn't change the long term plans of the season. Or if plans didn't change in general.

I just now remembered that spoiler! That would stink so bad!

I thought it was a great scene to bring the plot back to Lex's anger with Clark and his secrets. It's about to come full circle.

It was a well done scene. It definitley will come full circle between these two. I hope lex's final two episodes will be fantastic and i hope the writers will explain how lex goes out.

Agreed, and when Lex tossed him that basketball, it seemed like Lex was almost wishing to bring back the past in that tiny second, throwing it to Clark playfully like that. But the menace was still there in his face as he threw it. Almost like he was throwing to hit Clark rather than to have him catch it, a nod to the fact that Clark just saw Lex aiming to kill Clark in an AU. Very well played by both actors.

Yea a nice scene with Lex in the loft silently waiting for Clark, I wonder what Lex was thinking before Clark got there...It was a nice scene, played well for both of them loved the side camera shot...

I liked the Clex scene, but I was hoping Clark would have been a little more civil, I hope the next scene those two have is Clark showing a little more interest in what Lex says

That was a w.t.f. scene..lol..I was very surprised to see Lex in the barn. Clark should have told Lex that Prof. Fine is back and did that to Lana. Lex knows Fine is not from around here then he's probably have another world wide search for Fine like in season 5

Lex definately suspects Clark as the Traveler. Why else would he be interested in Lana's alien sickness and the fact that Clark was the last person she was in contact with.

My favorite scene of the episode! Is anyone really surprised? ;) Both actors played it well, there was clear hinting there, etc. Not sure on Clark's reasoning but I suppose he played it best with saying nothing. I agree on the civility, and the strange football throw....sigh, the old days.

It WAS a great scene between them. They both seemed to be struggling NOT to say more to each other. I could feel the tension leap off my TV screen which demonstrated just how well these two actors played off each other. It was Well Done.
I was especially excited because I had been wondering WHY Lex hadn't asked about Lana before now. I've been re-watching earlier seasons on my DVD sets and I was reminded how much I saw that Lex had feelings for Lana for a long time but didn't act upon them. He was waiting for her to become of Legal age to pursue her romantically, so after Lana was committed to an asylum, catatonic, I thought that it was odd that Lex hadn't inquired about her. I'm satisfied now.

I could really feel Clark's struggle in this scene. I think he made the right choice.

Sigh, and to now know we don't have any more scenes like this coming after this season. I'm utterly depressed now. :(

I actually didnt like it....
Since the scene at Lionels grave...I've been thinking "ok..it's on!!" Then what...
Lex comes to the loft for a chat?? NO! You are rivals now...you dont just pop by
sheesh! I mean, it was obvious Lex was trying to get dirt from Clark, and it
wasn't really the friendly "I want to save Lana" bit Lex was trying to make it into.
But If I was Clark...and I walked into the loft to find Lex there. I would have told him "either take the stairs out of here...or I can throw you out the window. your choice."

Me and friend were talking and missed the last thing Lex said to Clark. It was right before he left the loft what did he say to clark

Yeah, I got the impression that Lex was using Lana's condition to try and get into Clark's head. In a previous episode, Lex pointed out to Clark how Lana seemed frequently get hurt while she was with Clark. I kept waiting for a "I told you so" or "see what a relationship with you has cost Lana?" or something along those lines. I don't understand how an ex-husband can have his best doctors in the world examine her and offer prognostications. Guess Clark has not legal jurisdiction either. Auntie Nell, where are you? Lex does indeed care for Lana as he proved his desperation to hold onto her by what all he did to her, but I do believe that Lex's visit to the Kent barn carried alterior motives.

I was wondering how Lex could take liberties to have Lana examined. Clark was a little surprised as well but controlled his reaction. This is setting up their future confontation. Lex blaming Clark for Lana's condition because he was living with her at the time. Clark said the same thing to Lex when she was living with him. Lana can't win no matter which one she is with. I'll be glad when she wakes up to see what is said between her and Clark.
I don't know where to ask this question but what is with the black glove Lex is wearing when he is president in the AU. Can someone explain it to me? Thanks.

This is one scene that really sticks with me! TW and MR were Brilliant! They both seemed emotionally torn. The almost friendly "guy thing" football toss. Clark wanting to help Lana so bad but hesitating on asking Lex what the Dr's found. A lot of layers to that Loft scene.

I think i remember hearing that Lex's hand got messed up from handling Kryptonite for so many years in his experiments. I may be wrong:)

To be honest, I was glad he didn't. Not because I have anything against Lana (which I do), but it may be a sign that Clark might actually move on. He had the choice of saving Lana or protecting his secret, and he chose the latter.

It's not so much about protecting his secret. I don't think Clark (at least the Clark/Superman I grew up with) would ever choose hiding his secret over saving someones life if it was his only choice. The way I saw it was that telling Lex that Brainiac was back would have accomplished nothing and given Lex valuable information that he might later use to his own end. Brainiac said that humans could do nothing for Lana. Lex is still just a human, and Clark knows this.

Well it would of been helpful if Clark did mention something about Brainiac doing something to Lana. But in another sense, maybe it was best if Clark kept his two sense out of this one.. who knows, maybe Lex was hoping that Clark would spill what really happened to Lana which would put Lex one step ahead of Clark and another step in trying to get some useful information. But I mean, when does Clark set aside saving someone's life over protecting his secret? Especially Lana for that matter, the girl of his suppose dreams?

um, it was actually a football that Lex throws at Clark, a nice allusion to the AU verse we had just left and the "nuclear football" that Lex had just used to destroy the world.
But yeah, it was a nice homage to the past (I, too, flashed back to Hug) and the days when Lex was always in the Loft. It made me sad, thinking of the days when they were friends (and also when Tom and Rosenbaum had every other scene together. Honestly, do they even get to see each other on set anymore?).

I know. Sadly the show was SUPPOSED to be about Clark and Lex's descending relationship as a huge part, but Lana/Clark overtook nearly everything in Clark's life and made it secondary. Lana was supposed to be another important part, as was Chloe, his parents, everything else...yet eventually her sub-story with him overshadowed all. What a shame.

It was a great scene! I miss Clex moments, it was a bit strange to see them angry/awkward/friendly again...
I was wondering why Lex hasn't pulled the Lana card yet..that was such a WWLD moment right there

Oh yeah, I agree but it's just annoying that Clark doesn't
A. tell Lex anything that could save Lana
B. get really angry and really rip into Lex
I just want to see that these ongoing lies (which Lez can obviously see are lies) will FINALLY go somewhere after 7 seasons
