Could this be a set up for Chlark & superman?

OK probably grasping at threads here but hear me out.

I am wondering if Clark pushing Chloe to assist him and her getting in trouble with the feds could be a set up for Chlark and also Clark's progression towards becoming Superman.

It could be a progression towards Chlark because Chloe has put her own relationship at stake in her devotion to helping Clark and keeping his secret but thus far Clark has taken her for granted and not realised his deeper feelings for her. Chloe getting roughed up by the Feds is bound to make Clark upset that helping him has put her in danger and could make him realise his deeper feelings for Chloe and realise he has been taking her for granted and also realise that he needs to make more effort to investigate things for himself in order to prevent putting his friends in danger again - hence progression towards superman - one can only hope anyway!

I can see the series going many ways, sadly Chlark isn't one of them. I liked the idea of them together in the early episodes, now I think it's time to move on.

nah, Clark will not be able to embrace any kind of relationship with Chloe, not unless he is able to restore Lana and Lana gives him the boot. Clark and Chloe are friends and when/if Clark realizes that he has jeopardized Chloe again and again, I think he will distance himself from her and then she will turn to the JL for validation.

Clark has put quite many people in danger again and again without ever understanding anything so nothing happening there. Clark is the walking definition of unprogressive.

I have the feeling Chloe is moving toward disaster if not all out calamity to serve Clark's wishes. She does anything he asks of her and she will end up dead before the end of the series. Only then will Clark realize how abusive he has been to Chloe. Taking her for granted, yes. Somehow he will convince himself to go into journalism to honor her memory.
