Watch lex's face after he reads that writing on the wallet or whatever it is.
He had a look on his face that showed there's still a part of him that knows he did wrong. My initial thought was he'd look up with a smug smirk! But he surprised me.
Perhaps.......guilt?

It seemed to be a momentary look of sadness.
Lex always wanted love from his Dad. Like Clark had from Jonathon.

Yeah, that interesting. Just that tiny momentary lapse where he feels guilt, but only for like a second, and then that guy comes in and he totally blocks it out.
That's an interesting visual representation of the depiction of SV Lex Luthor: he has "burned" his conscience in the flames to permanently block it out, so any time it hits him, it'll only be for a passing second, and then he'll go back to business as usual from now on. A very accurate portrayal of a "sociopath", according to psychological studies, if you ask me.
