View Full Version : Does Chloe really care about Lana just as much as Clark?

Did anyone else roll their eyes when Clark told Chloe he knows she cares about Lana just as much as him?
I highly doubt Chloe cares about Lana just as much as Clark and I think the only reason Chloe hacked into computers and screwed with the feds was to help Clark.
I'm sure Chloe cares for Lana just a teeny-tiny bit but they've grown apart over the years and I have a hard time believing their still friends who care for one another:rolleyes:
Just my two cents.

I highly doubt Chloe cares about Lana just as much as Clark Considering Clark's firm "I don't care about Brainiac or Lex! I only care about Lana!" position, I do not know if anyone can care about Lana as much as he does.

I think Chloe cares about Lana is a healthy, compassionate way and Clark cares for Lana in an unhealthy, addictive way. Romantic love verses human compassion.
I don't know what Clark would do with a girlfriend who was not a victim who needed constant rescuing. Maybe that is why he has no attraction to Chloe and Lois, who are both very self-sufficient and independent.

OMG you are so right! Clark needs to loosen up on his fixation for Lana

I think Chloe cares more for Lana than Lana cares for her. That was obvious when Chloe urged Clark to go to Lana before she married Lex in Promise. And how did Lana repay Chloe's loyal friendship to Clana, urging them to get back together? Lana wanted to run off the Paris with BizClark, told Chloe to "let go" of Clark, who happens to be Chloe's protector, too, in that weird world. Which would leave Chloe defenseless.
But, yes, Chloe does still care for Lana, too, in a compassionate way. What I found interesting was that it was Clark who was equating his feelings for Lana to Chloe's, which would be only friendship and not passionate man-woman love. :confused:So I have to wonder whether Clark has been "Lana, Lana, Lana, blah, blah, blah" due to the all too predictable love passion or Clark's overabundance of mopey guilt due to Brainiac being his enemy who attacked Lana mixed with the love of an old friend and lover.

I can't really find a reason why Chloe shouldn't care about Lana. For marrying Lex? Perhaps, but that was also Clark's fault.
We all remember Chloe and Lana's conversation at the Isis at couple of weeks ago... where Chloe almost threatened Lana. I guess that says enough. But it also indicates Chloe wants Clark "for himself"...

So true. Chloe loves Lana like a sister even though they've had their differences she still wants to help her. But unlike Clark Chloe has her priorities straight. She puts the world before her feelings. And if Chloe didn't do that Clark would be in major trouble and he probably miss the whole Brainiac trying to kill him when he was a baby thing.

No way she didn't say that because she wanted Clark for herself she said that because she would not let Lana bring the worst out of Clark. She wouldn't let Lana bring Clark to his destruction. THat's not just about her feelings for Clark it's about saving the world. And I think we're seeing that happen. Lana is bringing Clark down but Chloe isn't going to let that happen she brings him back up.

You're right about Chloe. What would Clark have done without her... obviously.
And about Lana bringing Clark down... I would say it's more Clark letting her bring him down. Lana has told Clark already that she doesn't want to be the one holding Clark back from whatever that is out there.
If Clark had decided to run off and do something instead of babysitting Lana when she's controlled by Brainiac ... I believe Lana would have understood. I think that's what Lana would have wanted. Clark has to realize that.

A lot of the time it is Clark letting Lana bring him down. But Lana doesn't really help. In persona she didn't care that Clark had important things to do she was still willing to move away w/ him to Paris. And When she said that she didn't want to hold him back she wasn't being truthful about everything so it was difficult to beleive her.

I think she cares about her to a certain degree. However, no one cares more about Lana than Clark and Al/Miles.

About the Paris thing, I don't see your point. That was Clark's (Bizarro's) suggestion. It might have come as a surprise to Lana. Surely Clark's destiny is important, hell yeah that's what it's all about. But Lana and Clark also have a relationship and when Clark suggests they try it somewhere else... then how can Lana refuse.
You'll have to refresh my mind about the "not being truthful" part though...

Yes! Yes! I caught that too! He seemed to me to be indicating that he and Chloe have the same kind of feelings for Lana. I think he is motivated by guilt and a boatload of other dysfunction when it comes to Lana.
IMO, if they had a healthy relationship, they would either be married by now, or living in separate homes going out on dates, or just being friends, or living completely separate lives. They would not be living on the Kent Farm in a sex-less, trust-less, pseudo- marriage.

OK Lana told in the ep where she said she step aside she told him that she was at her aunt Nells but the truth was she was checking up on that lady who she hired to torture Lionel.

Ah yes. The lies. I guess she's done her share of that. But where do you think she learned that from? Clark, Lex, Lana. They all lie.
But that still doesn't mean she lied about saying she doesn't want to be the one holding Clark back from his destiny.
Bottom line both Lana and Chloe know Clark has a greater purpose, and when that day fully presents itself I believe they will both accept it.

At least we hope no one else cares about Lana that much.

Chloe and Lana had their fair share of best friend/"I'll treat you like a sister" moments in the past, so I think that Chloe cares about Lana a lot. Maybe she doesn't care about Lana so much as to be obsessed with her (like Clark behaves sometimes), but she does care about her more than just human compassion IMO.

I agree 100%. This season, Lana never once has stopped Clark from doing something she knew would benefit him because she wants to be the centerpiece of Clark's life. Lana lets Clark go places by himself without constantly getting on his back about why he does this or that.
If Lana is as conceited as some people on the forum say, then I don't think that Clana would have survived this season. Lana wants something from their relationship with Clark because they're in a relationship together and that should justify that. If she didn't want anything out of it, then she'd just be his best friend. But Lana also doesn't allow what she wants from her relationship with Clark to stop the more important things. This season, Lana has been able to put aside her personal desires if something more important comes around.
