Smallville's Jimmy is cooler than Clark

What a major role reversal from the regular Superman mythology!

SV's James Olsen seems to be very suave (as tonight's episode showed), extremely intelligent, and has backbone (he didnt put up with Chloe's deception in that last conversation)... this is the exact opposite of SV's Clark (who's still Lana's beotch after 7 years).

He's starting to see himself as better than Clark too (that last scene with the kiss). It's definately a stark contrast to the mainstream Superman Jimmy that worships the ground Clark walks on (like in Superman Returns).

I gotta say I like this interpretation of Jimmy though. Tonight's storyline may have been bad but Ashmore's Olsen was ace.

Just one look at Clark and he'll know Clark is Superman.

He even recognized Clark through his disguise in Noir.

THis ep made no sense whatsoever. JO has been shown to be somewhat tech savy but in no way a secret Agent with fancy gadgets. Someone has watched Mr and Mrs Smith too many times. I can't see why Chloe would want JO back anyway considering he keeps oogling girls in front of her, as he was oogling EDLois last week. Of course, I can't understand why Clark ever wanted Lana back after she mistreated and berated him then ran to Lex then ran back after her embezzling, kidnapping and torturing people either. This must be the year of everyone being so stupid they forgive people who don't deserve it. I'm sick of dysfuntional relationships on this show.

Its so out of character for the traditional Jimmy in the comics, I agree.

But SV has somehow made Jimmy cool... and Clark into a big dumb idiot.

Jimmy may have been characterized as a genius james bond superhero whatever in this episode, but this is the same 'clark is working with the egyptians' jimmy olsen? :lol: the characterization is so off....

No, I mean out of character for the way they've had Jimmy in Smallville so far as well. At least it was realistic he mainly couldn't defend himself against the woman, but weapons on the cuffs? Masks, dropping from shafts? The odd dance in the suave outfit?

Aaron's Jimmy balances the funny-serious-don't-take-this-to-seriously attitude really well. In a Christopher Reeves kind of way. A filler with Jimmy is 20 thousands times better than someone stalking or longing over Lana, IMO.

I hope I don't get my hopes up too high for next week. This epi was a let down from last week. I always love when they have a lot of Chloe! That was the only good thing about the episode. A major filler episode!!!!!!!!

All Jimmy's flair and cleverness and Chloe still outwits him just sitting around in her dress. LOL! I love Jimmy's reaction when he finds out Chloe outwitted him. His reaction is like, "Really? She got me a present? What is it?" LOL!
