Finally... Lex Luthor! Has anyone else noticed how he has evolved way more than any other character? Lex kills his own father... his line about "i grew up in your shadow. now you're gonna die in mine" great, great line! I liked the whole inner battle that Lex still had going on, but finally Lex has put his "Alexander" behind him. The only voice holding him back is now gone and I'm excited to see this Lex Luthor. Of all the people who have played Lex, Micheal is my favorite by far... I really wish he was on the big screen as this character. Lex broke out of the "duh" phase when people tell him things... like the scene with Chloe at the daily planet... in the past, he would have just warned her about the key and left, this time he actually used his brain!
Enough about Lex... this show had me more "into it" than i remember being for alot of other episodes. I was just in a daze watching any scene with Lex... some of the best acting i've seen on television in a long time. it felt like a movie. now we know why chloe doesnt work at the daily planet... my guess is that she's gonna work for oliver queen. tom did a great job as well. I gotta say tho that as good as this episode was... Michael deserves something for his portrayal of Lex Luthor in this episode, it was great to watch!

i agree, i couldn't take my eyes off the screen. everything just felt so heavy and epic. normally, i find myself kinda losing focus in other epis.

this is by far one of the best eps this season by a mile. michael's acting and potrayel of the fallen lex was magnificent. my eyes were glued to the tv!!!! the chlark scenes didn't hurt either :)

I'll fifth that emotion. Mr. Rosenbaum did his thang in this episode, easily acting circles around everyone else (including Allison Mack, who is arguably the best actor on the show). The graveyard scene at ep's end, opposite Tom "Wooden" Welling was EXQUISITE. The slight smile Lex allows himself as he watches Clark silently grieve was replete with meaning: was he mocking Clark for showing "weakness" in mourning, or was he admiring Clark for caring about Lionel even when he himself had long buried him? SUCH A GREAT JOB! I just hope he doesn't resort to playing an all out "Heavy" for the last remaining episodes, but instead gives us all the Lex we've been dying to see for at least 6 seasons!

I agree Michael is the best Lex Luthor ever.He became the character right in front of our eyes.We saw him falling into evilness more and more each season and now the Lex Luthor that we all know is finally there.Cheers to Lex :D

I agree. MR really turned it up a notch.

The "slight smile" as posted above from the funeral scene was very fitting.
