so lionel killed his own parents for insurance money to start his company.
then lex kills his own father for what true purpose?
how sad....
how terrible how lex finally goes to the dark side.
I will miss Lionel.
I will miss John Glover more.

I keep thinking Lionel will be back because he is Jorel's Orcale and maybe he can come back from the dead.

seems to be a family tradition. Yes maybe he'll come back but it won't be Lionel.
We'll miss you John

I would hate it if he came back from the dead. That would water down everything great that happened in this episode, and water down Lex becoming completely evil.
However, I would be fine with seeing the character get some screen time via a Jor-El emissary connection.

I've asked that question a couple of times. The one about Lionel killing his parents. Thanks, for the answer !:D
Lex had NO legit reason, for killing Lionel.....a key ? TOO :(
Word of advice for the "criminial" mastermind, that is Lex....he better NOT have any kids. That family tradition will probably continue on.

I was thinking the same thing... It's like father like son. Cliché or not (and it is), the apple really doesn't fall far from the tree.
As for Lex having kids of his own... as far as I can remember he only has a bumbling nephew who's probably even more dangerous because he is such a "confused" kid.

I'm not sure Veritas was the reason Lex killed Lionel... I'm not even sure it was for power, control of Luthercorp or even because he felt Lionel had become soft and weak...
I think it was mostly (not gonna say 'purely' here) down to wanting to hurt Clark. He saw how close they were getting and killed out of jealousy.

Yeah, and it was like a schoolyard showdown when Clark showed up at the cemetery in spite of the fact that Lex made the burial private. A descent due to jealousy is really perfect when you think about it. It's a more damning sin than killing your old man for a key.

Well it's like Lex told Lionel before killing him: "you sacrificed me for the Traveler." He feels that the Traveler took away the attention of his father, and if he suspects that to be Clark, then he would have a strong motive for killing Lionel for that purpose as well.

I thought it was a d*ck move, actually, by Clark, showing up at the funeral....like, wait until Lex leaves at least, why make a big show about it standing there with Lex??
