Anyone else get the feeling that the guy who killed Lex's Assistant was hired by Lionel to protect Clark?
I find that a lot more likely then Lex doing it or another member of Veritas (considering all members appear to be dead).

Maybe, but how would Lionel know that Gina was going around? He could have hired that person to track Gina, but then Lionel would have known that his plot with the key in Chloe's desk would have backfired. And IMO, I don't think he knew that.

Problem with that theory is that Lionel's dead so if that was the case he would have simply aborted the mission as he had no one to report too anymore and more importantly get paid for services rendered...

Unless Lionel hired him specifically to look after Clark in the case of his death. It would make sense that Lionel would make these kind of arrangements.

Hire a Hitman to look after Clark? Highly improbable as it would mean risking exposing Clarks identity to a complete stranger!

Lex probably killed her. IMO Gina is kind of a prototype Mercy Graves similar to how Chloe WAS a prototype Lois Lane. Mercy Graves was Lex's assistant who has feelings for him, kept his secrets and lived only to serve Lex. In Superman: Doomsday Lex killed Mercy so nobody no matter how trusting would ever find out he released Doomsday upon Metropolis. In Descent it's pretty similar. Lex probably killed Gina because the only person who should've known the truth was himself (except Clark, Chloe, Jimmy and Lois). :D

No it was Lex. I knew he was gonna do it just from that sidistic smile he gave her when she said WE did it. She was a liability.

I called it. As soon as she found out about Clark she was dead

Would Lex really just throw away information like that? Even if it was his hitman he hired, then why go through all that hassle when he could have killed her directly?
And why did they put emphasis on the glasses? :\

I think it was Lex's hit man. Lex probably had her killed because she knew too much. He had no idea that she would find out Clark's secret. I bet he wishes she left a more detailed message. He was that close to finding out. LOL!!! Ironic eh?

I think it was Lex. I half-suspect that Lex will be seen hearing her message, and than have a "oh crap" look on his face because he had her eliminated too early. He obviously saw her as a liability, as seemed to becoming more and more attached to him (which he did not reciprocate) and she knew too much. But what was that was sprayed her mouth? Was it somehow a mist form of digitalis? (not sure if that is even possible, but think the first season X-Files episode, "Eve")

Gina overstepped her paygrade as soon as she stopped calling him "Mr Luthor" and started treating him like her boyfriend. When she kept talking to Lex about how "we did it", it was like her deathknell. That look he gave her before he left her alone at the DP was totally a, "Yeah... I'm gonna have you killed" look.
I have a theory that she over idealized their relationship, thinking that they were on equal footing, maybe hoping Lex will "fall in love" with her. It was misplaced devotion.

I kind of thought it was the martian man hunter....haha! :) I dont know why...just the guys body...I thought it was him, looking out for Clark. I know I'm wrong of course...but Lex never popped into my mind. Plus, she had valuable info....if lex did it, what a mistake!

Hmm...I don't think that an emphasis on the glasses means anything. He was shown putting her glasses back on because he was setting it up to look like an accident, so when the police find her body and do some research, it wouldn't look too suspicious that her glasses were missing.

No, Lionel didn't kill Gina, it was Lex as she was subtly changing the context of their relationship, she knew that Lex murdered Daddy, and Lex didn't need her phone call to know who the traveler is, Lex has both keys to the box and was already planning his trip to Zurich and he certainly wouldn't leave someone like Gina who is a potential threat to his security back in Metropolis.

I think it was an agent from the Department of Domestic Security who killed Gina. They're supposed to be playing a role in the next episode- Sleeper. Plus, someone in the Department may have known that Lex interacted with Agent Carter (the agent who administered the kryptonite truth serum into Kara's body in the episode Lara) which would put Lex onto their radar. They might also be aware of the the Veritas group.
