I'll be the first to say thx to Mr. Glover, for his years of work, and stealing the scene everytime he was in one...........:(

The one that is like Saw was my fav of him. When Clark caught the elevator and Lionels suspicions were revealed to him about Clark. The look on his face was priceless. Also by that one episode I knew Lionel was a changed man when he was willing to blow his own head off to save Martha.

I agree.
I saw JG at his best in Transference, even if it was through Clark.
I also love him in 'Mercy', because he proves he would sacrifice himself for someone else (that person being Martha).
Then there's commencement. "I don't have the stone..." and then it glows.
There are so many good Lionel moments.
Well done JG. You're already missed.

I would also like to show my appreciation for John Glover. Thank you for helping to make this show so entertaining and for expertly portraying one of the best and most complex characters I have ever seen. Your contributions shall not be forgotten.

In the beginning I did not care for his character, however I then realized after watching more that he is the most complete and compelling actor on the show. I really like the way he was written towards the end truly coming full circle from the beginning and will miss the way he portrayed Lionel. I enjoyed the way he would speak projecting and enunciating his words like "Kal-EL" and "son".
John Glover was a great gift for many years for us. A classic actor.

Best moments: Shattered/Asylum.
The absolute horror at the depths he was willing to go to ensure his past crimes wouldn't catch up to him...sheer brillance.

I love the closing scene where he leaves Adam (whom he brought back from the DEAD) strapped in the chair, and flat out denies him the syrum. Turrning the light out and leaving him for dead in a broken down dirty lab....EVIL

JG was the nutmeg in Smallville's eggnog... the tinkling piano in a great jazz song.
John Glover took the Lionel character way beyond the limits originally written for him.

JG is great. I can't wait to hopefully meet him when he starts seminars at my college in the fall again. All the students I've known who have met him said he's really cool.
One of my really good friends asked him "Aren't you from Smallville?" and he replied "technically I'm from Metropolis." Haha, great story, I thought. Just wish I had been there. She got a nice picture with him though.

I can't believe it! Lionel's dead! I loved his character! I loved watching JG in any scene he was in. His portrayal of Lionel Luthor was some of the best acting on the show. Smallville just won't be the same without him :(

YEa John Glover was a great actor in the show, i will miss his character and all the hate/love i had for the character. He was well written, acted wonderfully and was a great addition to the cast and for the show. He will be missed and i wish him the best of luck with his acting career and hopefully maybe next season he can appear as a vision, flashback, etc.... or even write or direct an episode.

BUMP, That last scene where CK said 1st Jor El then JK now Lionel all died to save him was great. Then Chloe reminded him, maybe they did it to save us all.. Meaning we will have a SM in the future......TY JG

I will miss JG on Smallville. I think the show is taking a step down in quality without Lionel on it.
I was hoping that Chloe would revive him. It would have been fun to see Lex's face seeing his dad alive after the fall...

John Glover's classy acting will be sorely missed on the show. The MB and then his caring, protective Lionel upgraded every episode. But then, Glover's always been a great actor. Rent "52 Pick Up" and see where the MB first started his screen presence.

Lionel is dead, and i will miss him a lot, i loved his character, he was the best actor and the best character of the show, but i have a doubt. From different sources itīs have been said that JG renewed his contract for season 8, so if Lionel is dead, that info was only a lie, a rumor?? because I thougth that it was confirmed that he will be in season 8... so what will be happen now?, we will see him again or not? he will be some kind of another character, like the new Jor El or something like that?? I hoped that i will see him in season 8... If Kristin, michael, JG, and maybe allison not in Smallville i think I will not follow the show... sad
(sorry if I donīt write english well, iīm from Spain :\)

I thought his best episodes were in seasons 2 & 3. I liked his interest in Clark's ship that Dr. Hamilton told him about in Duplicity. He was great in Red at the end when he held the bullets in his hand. He was awesome in the scene at the end of Suspect when he explained what really happened between him & Sheriff Ethan.
In season 3, he was incredible at portraying a sick, obsessed Lionel. This was seen in Asylum when he was watching that video of Lex saying "I know your secret Clark" and looping it over several times. Same thing with the scene in Legacy when he saw the octagonal key in Jonathan's pocket during their fight. The facial expressions in those episodes were great and no other actor on this show could match them.

I LOVE JG and he will surely be missed in this show, he brought the character of Lionel Luthor to life and he played him so evil, I was always impressed by the things he said and the way he brought up everyones game! He is a great actor and I wish him nothing but the best. Thank you JG you gave a lot to this show and the fans love you as you can see.

He was also the very first character to appear in the series in the Pilot. And he wasn't even a regular back then.

John Glover is also a very nice person in real life and has done a lot of great charity work. I greatly appreciate all his contributions to those in need. Thank you for everything John & keep up the good work!!
